Good Sunday morning, Ladybugs

It's official. I will be participating in the Peachtree Road Race this year. You have probably never heard of it, but around here, the race is a big deal. It has always been a dream of mine to be in the race and this is the year. I wasn't sure if I would get in or not, as thousands of people are turned down every year. Of course, the serious runners are chosen first, but people like me who apply are chosen by a lottery drawing, and I am one of the lucky ones this year. I received my number in the mail yesterday.
The race is only a 10k (a little over 6 miles), so I shouldn't have any problem finishing. It is held on July 4th every year and 55,000 people participate. The reward for finishing the race is a T-shirt, and I have always wanted one of those shirts.
If you are interested, here is the link to the race site.

Just wanted to share my news and say good morning to all of you. I'll be working around the house today, and most likely, taking a nap at some point. I woke up too early this morning.
Have a great Sunday, everyone....BB

Yes, the race starts at 7:30 in the morning, thank goodness, before the heat of the day sets in.....BB
Sadly ... Long distance running is something I've been told to avoid now that I've had knee surgery. I'm *able* to run but the impact would be too damaging to my joints. I would have to walk the miles ... which I could do.
Is that allowed in your race? Many races here have run-walk components. Not a bad idea with our aging population. LOL!
Good luck!

I know you will finish and get
your special t-shirt!

Well, my coffee's made, DH is talking paint, so I must go. Have a cool and *dry* Sunday. Seren
Congratulations. I read the history of the race and it sure has come up in 30 years from a carload to over 55,000. I like the discription of the line-up--it will start at Lenox Street and end at the horizon.
BTW: Good morning. Kathey
