Got my couch day

Only because I caught a cold from manager at Curves on Sat. Oh well, I'm watching old movies on our new hard drive that connects to the big TV. It has a remote, so I can avoid moving. DH is handling the laundry. All in all, it ain't a bad day.

Oh yes - turkey carcass is simmering in my big soup pot and the house smells wonderful. I love turkey soup - noodles or rice, so I supper will be perfect. The first year we were married, my DFIL stopped over after work a few days after Thanksgiving and was amazed at how good the carcass soup was. He'd never had this - they just threw out the bones. Guess he didn't have a thrifty DGrM like mine.

You caught a cold overnight? You sure you didn't pick that up somewhere else? That seems awfully quick for a cold to develop...but whatever. My Mom always made turkey soup from the carcass and I did too. I also made turkey tetrazini from the leftover turkey...that was so yummy!

Sure was quick, but she's the only person I could think of. Could have picked up a germ on Friday. Not coughing as much today, but when I do it is productive. I'm taking Sudafed non-drying. It contains the same stuff as in Mucinex to loosen everything up.

I did drag myself to the clinic for labs at 8 AM - had to get this done prior to annual visit with MD on 12/12.

Spending most of my day on the sofa watching & dozing to old movies. Just watched "Flyboys" - great historical drama about WWI flyers and a romance to boot. Our cat normally sleeps with us on the bed. As I was propped up on the sofa last night, he stayed with me. When I couldn't get comfy on the sofa & headed to bed at 1:30, he came right along, got on top of me for some petting, then we both went to sleep. He seems to think his nightly job is to get us both in bed. He waits on the corner until lights go out, then leaves in a few minutes to go prowl the house. When he gets bored, he comes back to snuggle with us.
