Christmas shopping

We've spent most of the morning online (I LOVE AMAZON!!!!!) looking for all the Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Lego/Astro Boy/Playmobile stuff on our DGS's Christmas lists. The names on this stuff will drive anybody crazy. There's Star Wars and Star Wars Clone Wars and Lego Star Wars. There's Star Wars and Deluxe Star Wars.....the price goes up for those. Next up: the adults. DS2 needs $$ for groceries. That's what we gave him last year and he said it was the best gift ever so, we'll repeat that. Don't know about the other ones.  DH and I haven't exchanged gifts for many years. We both just had to get tires for our cars so guess that qualifies, anyway.

We gave up trying to fill those crazy wish lists long ago. Been there, done that with our own kids. Now we give something disposable (crafts, models, arts) + some cash. The parents like that they have some project stashed to work on during those boring days at home, and the kids like having some $$ to pick out what they want.

Glad to see another couple who don't give holiday gifts. We stopped when our budget was so tight that DH had to ask ME what we could afford for HIM to buy me - LOL. I hated the idea of having to deal with the bills in January.

We haven't given each other gifts since the kids were young. We don't exchange birthday, Valentine's or any other gifts either. We'll go out to lunch or dinner. That's something you don't have to dust!!

Gail I'm with you on the omg Star Wars stuff. I love the earlier ones, but not the newer ones. Sounds like you pretty much have Xmas almost wrapped up.

Wondering how long it would take me to drive to your house for pralines.... There's a guy who sells them out of a basket on Canal St. in New Orleans and they are to die for. Got some at a store there last Spring and they were not the same - too gritty. I love the creamy melt-in-your-mouth kind.

I snuck in here and grabbed your recipe, Shirley Sue.
Those sound sooo good and I LOVE the fact that it is quick & easy, "just like me"!
