We are continuing to celebrate DH & Princess' birthdays, but the gifts have been given, so the pressure is off me now.  I will bake a cake for Princess' (German Chocolate) and a pie for DH (Lemon Meringue) later in the week and we are going to take a day trip to Jefferson TX on Saturday - as part of their celebrating.   Then we are done with birthdays for a while.

I have not bought a single Christmas present yet but am hoping to have a shopping day tomorrow.   I need to make my "List" tonight so I am good-to-go in the morning.

Do you have your Christmas Tree up yet?
I enjoy having the house decorated & the tree up,
but wish someone else would do it then take it all down again for me.
Does this mean I'm old??

Nope, the inside (little) tree is not up yet...still have to vacuum the living room...the dusting is done. The last time we put the tree up Sonny got nervous and pulled all the feathers on his chest out!! Hope I have better luck this year! Oh...all my Christmas shopping is done too...but not wrapped and the ones going south haven't been shipped yet either. My list was very short this year.

The outside lights are up and lit as is the outside manger and the huge outside lighted cross...thanks to my wonderful neighbor. He came over and put everything up outside saying the whole time "if I didn't do this, Ma would reach out and strike me down!" He loved Mama Blu and considered her his Mom too. I know he really misses her.

Happy belated birthdays to your wonderful DH and beautiful DD. I'll take a slice of that lemon meringue pie please! That was my dad's favorite too.

Not a single preparation has been made yet. I'm not sure just how much I will do since it is just me in the house this year. I'll probably do just what gets me through. I was over to my DD's house for birthday dinner and cake last night. Her tree went up yesterday because she had a day off. It was gorgeous!! She has the decorating gene from her dad. It skipped me LOLOL!

Deb sounds like a very Happy Birthday time at your house. Love dragging out the birthdays. Makes them last longer...lol.

Good luck with your shopping. Nope no tree here yet. I will have one despite nobody will be here to enjoy it but me and dh.

Deb,

I'm just getting into the 3 birthday season-2 in Dec and one Jan 2nd.

Usually I put up my tree and have the 4 oldest grands come and decorate it.

belated happy birthday wishes to both.
nope have not started decorating at all for Christmas yet. will have to think about doing that soon.
haven't gotten a single gift either, but then we just send gift cards as all our family are so far away. we just get a little something for josh and ryan and then the rest on a gift card. they like to shop for themselves too. it makes it easy that way.

Bah, humbug. Amazing how a cold can make one feel - LOL.

Deb - I firmly believe there is a time & place for everything. When I hit the stage where all that indoor/outdoor decorating AND putting away was no longer fun, I pared it down. Helps my mood considerably. I donated a lot of stuff to local woman's shelter and they really appreciated it.
