Winter that is...
It's 22* here and I woke up to snow on the ground...yep, it's full fledged winter in the Midwest. Let my grumbling begin.
When I was out yesterday afternoon it started snowing/sleeting/blowing and the roads got very icy. After it blew me around I ran into the grocery store to pick up some things and of course ran into one of my girlfriends. It always happens when you look your worst!
Today I've got to get my 10 bags of stuff over to the Salvation Army store...I sure don't want to step outside tho. Hmmmmm.... I'd rather just stay in and clean and try to decorate the inside a little. If I don't do it today I won't do it at all. Doesn't matter much to me...nobody will be coming by over the holidays except for this weekend.
Guess I'll get more coffee and think about it!

Awww, that really stinks!
Hah - wind chill down here is 14 degrees! I'd like to venture out of the house - been in all week with this dang cold, but don't want to scrape windshield. I will need to dig out my quilted long coat. I swear nothing gets through that baby. At least I'm out of my robe today and hair is washed. Nothing makes me feel worse than when my hair is oily & looks stringy. And, yes, that's when I'll run into someone I haven't seen in ages. I can just imagine them thinking how I've gone to pot - LOL.
I need to begin indoor decorating, maybe later. Like you, except for visit from the DGrDs this Sunday, no company expected. I think I put it all up just to brighten the dark days. But - not much longer until they lengthen. I'll be counting the days.
BTW - have you ever seen Trans Siberian Orchestra performance? My DB up your way goes every year and is trying to convince me to get a ticket.

I've not seen their show live but I have friends that see them every year and last year the son of one of my girlfriend's was traveling with them as their "rigger." (He was the guy who did all the climbing in the rafters to set the lights etc.) He got my girlfriend tickets and she and the rest of her family went to the show...she said it was just awesome! I'll bet it's a really great show live. She said she'd go again in a heartbeat. I say go.
Oh man, oh man, oh man.
You knew it was coming but that doesn't mean you're ready for it, huh?!
"One day closer to Spring", ya think?
Busying yourself in the house sounds like a great idea.
A few Christmas things placed here & there will help you keep your spirits up, doncha think?
Any good old Christmas movies on TV?
Time to get ready for
Christmas!

It is here to, Blu!
It was so cold yesterday...never got over 24*...that I just couldn't force myself out of the house. I *have* to go out today...I have a hair appt. at 11:00...so I'm going to load the bags for Salvation Army into the back of my car and drop them off after my hair appt.
I still don't have the inside of the house decorated...if I don't get it done today, I probably won't do it. I'm not going down south for the holidays...no money to fly and just too dangerous to drive it this time of the year. I'll be heading to my bff's house on Christmas Eve day and stay there until Sat. It's her first Christmas w/o her DH so I think we can help each other through it. Her kids will be around so there will be a lot of activity.
I have a party tonight with my h.s. friends and one tomorrow with just the h.s. girls. So, I'm keeping busy.
Good idea doing it in one trip - you'll feel so virtuous saving all that gas $$.
My DM died 16 yrs ago today and it seems like yesterday. We had a memorial service a week later, but I did get up the outdoor decorations before that. One thing was the old fashioned big bulb outdoor lights on the back fence. When I came home from the service, someone had smashed every bulb. Didn't get the indoor stuf up that year.
You sure have a fuller social calendar than I do - enjoy!
