We are now we are sending it east...... I really think we were on the edge of it for the most part. Maybe Omaha and Lincoln got more snow....maybe we have around 5-6". But the wind has been picking up all day so we could have big drifts in the morning....
For the most part I would say we are retired and don't have to go out..... I mean for most of my married life being a stay at home mom if things were nasty outside we just stayed in......Del on the other hand had to get out in it....now if he can't go out he stands and looks out the window saying maybe he should go get the blower out and get the sidewalks cleaned off.. Really??? The snow we are getting if you put it in one big pile wouldn't weigh a # do you know what would happen if you go try and blow it back to where it was this morning? But if you have to go out and blow the snow........He went out and said he could just use the broom.... I looked out and asked him what about the drift that is across the drive? He said WELL the wind blew it back there... so I said WELL go sweep it back you can do that till it gets dark.....lol......I mean really.....if one of the kids wanted to do that they would hear worse......from him...MEN sometimes.....lol
So he will sit and kind of pout all day tomorrow if things don't clear up and that is the worst part of retirement for me. At least when my kids were snowed in they would play cards or board games with me. Not Del he will wait till after he gets up from his afternoon nap I will give him supper then he will say Well, I guess I might as well go to bed. This would be around 7.
Then when he wakes at about 4 in the morning he gets miffed at me cause I won't wake up and talk to him.......GEECH.........

There is nothing like home for the Holidays.

No, no, no, don't send that white stuff east! We don't want it! All we are getting is lots of rain and wind...ugh..have had enough of that in the past few months!
It's raining so hard right now and I'm thinking, hmmm, maybe I should just stay inside and forget about going to the Y, but then I think of all of those goodies I'll be eating in the next few weeks and figure I better make a run for it!
It's good you can stay inside.
Ah-ha! So t'was you that sent this blasted white stuff along to Blu and now me, eh?!
Your DH & mine must be from the same mold. When snow starts, he's constantly checking the wind direction. As soon as the wind starts blowing FROM the Northeast, he's jumping into his coat and boots, hollering "it's a Noreaster" - LOL. Granted, a big snow blown from that direction will block our front door and side walk, he's out their with broom/shovel & snowblower if there's more than 1" of snow. This goes on all evening, don't know how he sleeps at night. Then, at daybreak, I hear the snowblower. The neighbors must love it. Actually, the young couple behind us told me that when they hear the blower, they know they'd better allow time for some snow removal. They are both teachers and can't be late. DH is a sweetheart and does the drive & sidewalk of our single lady next to us. She has to be at work at 8 AM and the plows keep piling up snow in the driveway. He gets to her first, then later clears her drive out when it's near time for her to return.
Not enough snow here to worry about - so much wind it just blew around. I'm delighted to be retired, had no interest in going out today. Did have to make a quick run to the yard to rescue some yard ornaments which were laying on their side and ready to go down the drive.

Love your siggie, Janet!
Also got a kick out of your story about Del.
I bet he is adored by your neighbors for clearing their driveways.
