for my yearly mammo, not a happy thought. but, it's a must and i have to go and do that today.
then i have to go and finally do my Christmas shopping, yup i have not bought a single thing yet. can we say procrastination????

had a call from ds2 the other night, he is getting ready to go to sea for the first time in three years. he said it was probably the last time he would get a chance to call before they leave. he will be gone through Christmas and the new year, that is always a bummer. so, there will be no communication with him for several months now. that's the really hard part of him being on a sub.
with ds1 in the army, we can always email maybe not real regular but i do get to hear from him when he is overseas. but with ds2 there is nothing at all and that's hard.

did get to talk to dgd, she was so happy and said it was her best day because everyone in her class was given a dictionary. she is the reader in the family, hmmm can't think where she got that from!!! she loves her new school and her new teacher. she said she and her brother's classrooms are now side by side and they like that.

they had to move out of the house they were living in because ddil has a rare degenerative disease in her hip and could not go up and down the stairs. so they are now in a handicapped house that's all one level. it meant that the kids had to change schools. they now have a playground right across the street from the house and they are loving that.

i have an anniversary coming up on monday, i will be healed for exactly one year!!!! i thank the good Lord everyday and feel so blessed.

hope you all have a great day,

This is my month for a mammo too, Ellen.
I've decided to wait to have it done in Jan.
It never hurts.

Ellen, be sure to take some Tylenol just before you leave to have your mammo done...it makes a big difference!

I've never had a kid aboard a sub (or overseas for that matter) but my big brother was a sub-mariner and we'd go for up to 9 months at a time without hearing from him.

Ellen,
Your health improvement has been an inspiration to me, made me ask more questions of the MDs.

Is DS on a sub? Sorry for you that you won't be in communication. When our DGrS was in Iraq, we sent email, but he seldom had a way to respond.

Don't you just love it when the kids are good readers? You just know how rich their lives will be. One of our DGrDs cannot go to sleep without reading a few pages, no matter how late it is.
