Need to get a move on!

I have been putting off at trip to a nearby town (and a different Meijer store) for ages, now I must do it!  My local Meijer has quit carrying many of the small sized cans of veggies I usually buy.  I hate to buy the 'regular' size cans as it it just too much for me to eat at one time and I rarely like to eat the same veggie two days in a row!!  Besides that, my local store does not carry Kaliber and the one I am going to used to, so I am hoping it still does!  I'm hoping too that they'll have a couple of other items my local store is missing!

I need to buy a good metal snow shovel to do the scraping of things.  I have a plastic one that just doesn't have quite enough oomph to it when I need it to!

I'm making a shopping list and hope I'll remember to take it with me and actually buy what is on it!!!

Anyway, I need to get my shower and shampoo done and get good and dry so I can get out of here.  We are predicted more snow over the next few days and I'd like to not have to go out in it if I don't have to!!

I have been having some trouble here in iVillage lately too.  I can post responses to one or two posts and then iVillage hangs up!  I have to back all the way out of my browser and come back in before I can finish posting!  Arghhhh!!!!   LOL

Be back later....

Come to think of it, KT, I haven't seen those small cans in the stores I shope at lately; either because they stopped making them in that portion or because I wasn't looking for them. If I am fixing something for one and open a can of vegies, I put half in a container and into the freezer; when the container is just about full, it's time to make soup (l).

This is the time of year for lists.
It seems everyone is operating from a list at this time of the year.
Sounds like a well planned shopping trip.
I like to plan and have a list cause I HATE IT when I get home to find I've forgotten something I needed.

If I lived where it snowed I'd do exactly as you do Katie and try to plan my "getting out" between snow storms if I could.

Katie, I don't think they are producing many of the small cans of anything any more.

We have a similar problem with either canned or frozen veggies - the large can is a bit too much. So, I do the "save for soup" routine for canned veggies, but prefer frozen ones where I can use just what is needed.

DH does our main grocery shopping at the same store weekly. I made a list of the items we regularly buy using MSWord (now converted to Open Office). It is in columns arranged by the path he takes through the store. The first tab is an underline and I just check what he should buy. I'll try to attach a file. On the times I detour to a different store, I still use the list to prompt my aging brain.

I'm with you getting out while the getting is good. I'm going to Curves a little later, finally done coughing. The weather is in low 40s today, will drop to mid 20s overnight and then be chilly for a while. For now, the sun is out & I'm smiling.
