So glad today is over....

The last 2 days have been yucky...yesterday more than today. I had the dreaded colonoscopy today so yesterday was spent you know where. I just wish they could come up with something less barbaric for prep day...gosh it takes a lot out of you...no pun intended.

My cousin picked me up this morning at 6:45 and we were home by around 10:30 (I think). I was very dizzy and very groggy all day and actually stayed in bed until around 3:45. I know I answered the phone 3-4 times but the only conversation I remember having was with our sweet Pam.

The test didn't show any polyps but did uncover a slight case of diverticulitis. Guess I just have to be more diligent with my diet.

Next stop...OBGYN tomorrow for annual pap. What a fun week huh?

OH, brother, do I hate that "golitely prep" like drinking seawater. I've had 2 colonoscopies this year, one in the Spring, and the one just recently. I felt like I was going to explode from that gallon of "golitely" Then after that ,I had the small bowel series and had to drink barium.

I did read that you have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease. In one way it's good to have a diagnosis so you know what to do to feel better but how awful to have to give up all the wonderful things you love. I worked with a girl who had it and she seemed to have adjusted to living with it quite well...it just became her way of life. But I would think it would be hard to get used to in the beginning.

As for my test...I didn't have to drink that horrible "seawater" junk. I did that once about 12 years ago and after that I told my Dr. he better come up with a better idea because I wasn't doing that again. Since then I've been given 20 pills (horse pill size) that I had to take 3 at a time every 15 minutes starting at 10:00 a.m. until they were gone and then drink a bottle of that lemon/lime fizzy stuff.

I'm just glad these 2 days are over.

At least you have some days to "heal" so you can sit easily at the Christmas dinner table.

Is the colonoscopy every year? O forgot when you had the last one. I haven't had my first and don't intend to (lol).

Feeling good this evening. I'm surprised I wasn't more hungry than I was today. I just had oatmeal for dinner. I'll be back to my normal munching and crunching tomorrow as I'm having dinner with a couple of girlfriends tomorrow night.

No, the test is not an annual test for me. I have to have it every 5 years because colon cancer runs in my family (my maternal grandfather). The test is such a breeze...nothing to it at all...it's just the prep day that's a little rough.

Had my bff's DH had a colonoscopy (because cancer ran in his family too) they would have caught his cancer and she would more than likely still have him with her today.

There are a lot of "what ifs" when it comes to disease.

I doesn't seem that long ago you had it done. How time flies when you're having fun (l).

Since I'm seeing a new doctor, she doesn't miss a trick when setting me up for some test or another so I dounbt that this is on er agenda sooner or later.

I made some chicken breasts tonight and it taste like yesterday's oatmeal. I thought I took pork chops out of the freezer but it was chicken breasts, which I didn't have the ingredients for. That will teach me to look at the label.

Colonoscopy and Pap IN ONE WEEK??????????????????????

I hate them both. We had colonoscopies last year. I will never drink that crap (lol) again. I got the first bottle down but threw up the second one all over the kitchen floor. I told the dr. and he told me if there was anything left he would "suck it out". Yuck. I told him he was a lucky man because my butt was only on display for a choice few. DH and I had them done, two days apart. Talk about togetherness. We had a pooping good time!!

I haven't been to a gyn in almost a year, since we moved up north. I've gotta go because I'm on estrogen. I just do not like to go.

On that happy and delightful note, I'm going to fix dinner. Gail

Glad that is over for you. I had mine last March and I insist that they go both ways on my as long as I am cleaned out might as well see how my Nexium is doing...lol...Everything with me was fine. But I had to go to Hartington that day cause we were having a family dinner the next night so we got a motel room....but I just can't sleep in those places very well...has something to do with not turning my head off or something. lol so 2 days later when we came home I did sleep....

I don't have anything to pap anymore but still have to go for the mamo......I hate that more than the pap.......lol

Get some rest .......
