Today's project was rolling, cutting, & baking 6 doz. thin butter cookies. Did it in spurts, took coffee breaks to give my back a rest. Not too thrilled with the results - I used a different brand of flour. Will pick up regular flour when I'm out on Monday and mix some more dough. These have no frosting and aren't too sweet, so very tempting with a cuppa. It was nice to see the snow falling outside, but I am glad I didn't need to get out.
Monday's project will be Spritz wreaths. I have an ancient hand crank machine, but picked up an electric maker a while back. It makes short work of the whole thing. I'll save the thin mints production until Weds, so that we can avoid temptation. They'll go in the freezer until time to pack into containers.
One surprise was how hard it is to find plain milk chocolate kisses for Peanut Blossom cookies. They're pushing kisses with all kinds of flavor/chip additions and they aren't selling - spot for regular ones is empty. Wonder what advertising genius convinced Hershey that this was the wave of the future. Some things should be left alone - IMHO.
