Well, I wont be going out right away. The deck is covered in heavy frost and so is the front steps. It's supposed to be up near 50 later so will wait it out. I have 4 packages to ship but have all day to do it. Not taking any chances!
I am not really hoping for Christmas snow. Indeed, it is pretty but I just cant take the cold like I used to. I have lots of happy memories of my Christmases in Michigan and that's good enough for me.
I just read a wonderful set of books by Al and Joanna Lacy titled the Orphan Train Series. They are about the Children's Aid Society in NY in the 1800s which took in orphans living in the streets and sent them out West to families who became foster parents and many of the children were adopted by those families. It was a wonderful read and there were times when I laughed and when I cried. Very good and hard to put down!
Hugs, Jackie

Stay in and have another cup of coffee until the sun comes out and melts the icy porches; you don't need a cast on you other arm.
I remember a program on PBS about the Orphan Trains. We wondered if my grandfather was on one of them or how he got to Wisconsin; he came from Italy when he was a small boy but never talked about his past.

Stay off that deck Jackie!!! LOL It's been snowing here all morning and I'm just waiting for it to stop before venturing out for the day.
Thanks for the book recommendation...that sounds really interesting. I must be living in a cave...I'd not heard of it. That sounds like something I'd really like to read.
You be careful, girlfriend, you don't want anymore broken bones!
Sounds like a wise decision....staying in till things thaw off, Jackie!
Hi Jackie,
I too will check out the reading suggestion. Sounds right up my alley. Stay safe.
Hugs,
