Here it is Wednesday already.  It's almost Christmas!  Our part of the country is winter-like!  Are you travelling for Christmas?  People coming your way?  Or just staying put?

Good Wednesday Morning Donna!

Saw your pics at FB, looks like everybody had a great time. It was 39° this morning when I went to Curves and our temps are only going to be in the low to mid 60s today and through Xmas but dry I think and sunny..We do have a cold front and the winds are making it cooler but holy cow...39° that's cold anywhere...

My boys are driving up tomorrow night and staying until Friday night. They both have to work Saturday afternoon so they will head back home Saturday morning. We usually have a get together at our house with my bff and her family Xmas day after church. Saturday I will be heading for my family's side get together and because my cousin lives far and she's hosting this year's get together, we'll have a sleep over. It's going to be a big crowd this year as another cousin and her family from Canada are also here. Looking forward to that. Next year,it's my turn to host the party.

Other than that, everything's all set...tree is up, presents all wrapped up, food is ready..dh is going to smoke the turkey again like he did last Thanksgiving and I can't wait to just be home off for 5 days. I still work tomorrow and we're having our Xmas party tomorrow afternoon but after that, I'm off untiL Wednesday...Who-hoo!

Enjoy your day!

I did manage to get my hair trimmed on Weds, thankfully the stylist talked me into a trim instead of shopping all off. Looks much better, sort of a short bob.

Going off grid soon - too much going on.

I made thin mint cookies earlier today. Off for workout shortly, stop at bank for travel cash, then back home to make last batch of cookies - Peanut Butter Blossoms. Need to add tags & ribbons to gifts, plus stuff envelopes with gift cards & cash. That should take care of today.

Thursday evening is the gathering at DSs, then I catch a 6:15 AM train on Friday to head North to see my extended relatives. The trip gets a little convoluted, as Amtrak doesn't always arrive on time in Chicago. Depending on when it gets in, I can either catch the Metra from same station to DBs house, or if it's late, I'll walk 2 blocks to another station and take the Metra to DSs house. I'm actually looking forward to walking through the snow in Chicago on Christmas Day - shades of my childhood. This means I need to get all the routes/timetables printed on Thurs, plus load my mP3 player with tunes so I can catch some ZZs on the ride up, and watch the weather so I know what to pack. I was hoping to wear my new biker boots, but if it's wet out, I'll have on my snowboots - so much for being stylish, practicality always wins with me. Two nephews that I haven't seen in almost 20 years are visiting with their newborns - both boys names Logan. Another nephew is home on leave from USAF, goes to Langley in VA when he returns, plus niece is heading to college next year. So, I figure this is a good time to see everyone. DH is staying home with cat, holding down the fort. Too much talking noise for his hearing aids to handle - poor guy winds up just turning them off and staring at the TV for entertainment. I'll be back on a 10 PM train Saturday, as we have company stopping by on Sunday.

So, to all of you I wish you a happy, healthy holiday and safe travels.

hugs,
Jacquie

I had heard already yesterday that SD was closing down some things. It isn't real bad here yet but I am dreading getting up in the moring if the show is blowing and the wind is howling...

Now we have some friends that I know I have said this before, work like dogs most of the time but in the summer they can't get away to go up to the camper so they are talking about taking a couple weeks and going to Texas to see about maybe getting something down there so they can get away in the winter. I might go to OK. for a while in the winter but I am not going to Texas it still gets mighty hot down there in the winter....lol

Hope you have a good Holiday......
