*~* Merry Christmas! *~*

The freezing rain that was scheduled to hit our area last evening did arrive...but not as bad as predicted.  The stationery surfaces such as windshields of parked cars, driveways, and sidewalks did indeed get a coating of icy stuff.  But the traffic on the roads kept it from freezing there, so travel was not bad at all.

I left home about 3:45 and got back around 10:30.  Once again Syl's DH outdid himself in the food department!  I had taken my corn soufflé and sweet potato casserole. Syl's stepmom bought a couple of pies.  But Chris (with some help from Syl) did the rest.  For dinner we had roast duck and ham, mashed potatoes, dressing, and gravy. Accompanied by asparagus, peas, green salad, and crossiant rolls.  There were fresh veggies for dipping, cheeses & crackers, 3 kinds of olives, 2 kinds of pickles, and deviled eggs for nibbling on before and after dinner. And then a fruit plate for snacking on later.  There were only 10 of us there!  Somehow we have got to convince him to not cook for an army the next time!!!

I brought home enough duck and ham and salad greens to feed me for at least 4 days, and he was still dishing stuff up still to be sent home with the others as I left!

Today I fix another corn soufflé to take with me when I head out to my DS's home.  No freezing rain today....just rain!  The temp is in the upper 30s and will not drop back below the freezing mark until after I get home (I hope!!).

I hope you are all enjoying your Christmas and are safe and warm today!

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!

We're snowed in, so I'm waiting for turkey on Sunday.

The food sounds delicious, Katie. Syl's DH must like to cook. I'm glad the weather didn't ruin any of your plans. Hope you made it back from DS's before the temps dropped to freezing levels. Merry Christmas!!--Pat

The food sounds great, KT. Glad there was enough for you to enjoy several days.

We had the freezing rain Christmas Eve day through the night and yesterday was just drizzle. It snowed last nigh about an inch and might add an inch by night stime.

Enjoy time with your son and careful on the roads on the way back.
