Sunday sunshine.......

Good morning.  Well, I hope SOME of you are having sunshine today.  Don't think it's going to happen here.  But "they" say we'll have it tomorrow, so that will work for me.  I've been nothing but a slug, so I'm going to pull myself up and do some MAJOR housecleaning tomorrow!  You don't even want to know what this place looks like!  UGH!

We're supposed to go to mother's for turkey today.  That was going to be our Christmas dinner, but the blizzard had other ideas on that one.  So, I told her to cook it up and we could eat "leftovers".  I like leftovers better than the actual meal anyhow, so works for me!  We still aren't plowed out yet, though....Wonder what happened to the road crews?  That means about 6 feet of snow will be dumped in front of the driveway DH worked so hard to get blown out.  He's not going to be a happy camper, so I may be going to mother's alone if I get out.  LOL

Got to talk to both my grands on Christmas day.  Kaili drug her parents out of bed at 7:30 and was just screeching about all the stuff Santa brought her.  She told me she must have been a REALLY good girl last year!  Gotta love 5 year olds!  Poor Glen wasn't doing as well.  His Daddy made a journal for him and DIL gave that to him along with his other Christmas gifts.  She has done very well through this whole thing for all of us, but I've got to say she's never had very strong maternal instincts.  Poor kid didn't know whether to be happy about his toys or sad reading his journal.  I think that should have been kept for another time.  Oh well, he's young and hopefully will heal some day.  Holidays are going to be bitter sweet I'm afraid for awhile.

Time for more coffee for me, then I'm going to make a gingerbread cake and stick it in the oven.  At least the house will smell good!  Love that Cool Whip came out with a sugar free topping!  I'm going to eat til I can't eat anymore today!  Don't have to worry about weight gain.  Lucky me!  I hope you all have a wonderful, restful Sunday.  Love you!

My house is a real pit also and I would like to take down Christmas but DH does not want it down until after New Year.

I'm with you...I don't think that journal should have been a "Christmas present" to Glenn. But it's done now. Poor kid.

Kaili waited until 7:30? Wow...impressive! BTW...what ever happened with that American doll you bought at MOA?

We got 10" of snow here yesterday...not enough to stop us from doing anything. I ventured out to the movies with Merri and her DD. Probably shouldn't have been out driving in it but if you went slow it was ok.

Nothing to do today and I'm fine with that. I really want a day at home.

Hugs to you girlfriend...hope those plows get out to you today...

Hi Pam,

I hope that the sun makes an appearance for all of the snowbugs soon. I get a little psycho when there is no sun for days on end. I started the housecleaning yesterday. I couldn't take the clutter any more. Sorted two weeks worth of mail, and now need to pay bills. Got the suitcases empty and put away, finished emptying the UPS box

Hugs,

Now you've done it! All I can think of is gingerbread, nap, bubble bath - in that order. Gingerbread probably won't happen because DH doesn't care for it & I'd eat it all. Nap - maybe while DH is out removing snow later. My neck glands are swollen & head aches, so I fear I'm in for another round of virus issues. No kind of bath here in the winter (I DO shower). Our tub is steel and sits next to an outside wall with no insulation. No matter how hot the water is, you sit down & freeze your backside. When my ship comes in, I'm ripping everything out of that room and starting from scratch. First thing will be to never have the tub under a window. Our last house had the stool under the window & DH loved it - perfect natural light for reading -LOL.

I'm getting set up to practice freehand quilting with the new foot I bought for my sewing machine. First project will be to make a wall hanging from canyon postcards I scanned onto fabric. I turn on Pandora radio, pick a genre and just zone out.

Sad that your DIL didn't think it out about the journal, but so glad your DGrS has it. He will cherish it all his days.

Hugs,
Jacquie
