Time to get moving.....

If I sit in this chair any longer this morning, I won't get a thing done today, so I need to MOVE it!
But first....
DD and DSIL came over for dinner last night....the "last supper" before they leave to go back to NC today. DS couldn't make it last night -- he's had a touch of the flu...or something.....started coming down with it the day before Christmas....he's better now, but I really didn't want him here last night, spreading the germs.
For dinner last night I cooked a (*the famous*...lol) green bean casserole, a corn casserole (new recipe), mashed potatoes, and DH grilled some chicken. Some good friends of ours had given us 2 kinds of BBQ sauce they had made -- one is NC style (vinegar based) and one is SC style (mustard based) -- so DH grilled some of the chicken with SC sauce and some with NC sauce. It was ALL good (but the SC sauce is my favorite).
I'll be back here later, but now, I need to go to exercise, then to the post office, then to the mall to return an item (actually, I may procrastinate and do the mall exchange tomorrow), then swing by my GF's house and check on her kitty. My friend and her DH have been out of town for 8 days and I have been going to their house to feed and play with "Sammy" every day. Sammy's Dad is flying home today though, so this morning will be my last "kitty duty."
Okay.....I'm OFF! C U all later!

Ooh - I am so envious that you had grilled chicken. Our grill is covered with snow. I baked chicken legs Sat eve - the old oven-fried method and they were goooood.
Can't decide if my cold has come back or the dry air in the house is bothering me. All the tykes at our gathering had runny noses or were on antibiotics, so who knows what I may have picked up. I really want to get out of the house & workout this morning. Drive is cleared, so I have no excuses, problem is the windchill is 12 degrees & I'm cold even in the house.
Will be starting a pot of chicken soup shortly. I make it Tex/Mex style with diced tomatoes, green peppers, onion, garlic, celery, corn & chili pepper powder, then thicken it with a little corn meal at the end. I could live on it.
Hope you had fun with the kitty - we always appreciate our cat sitters when we travel.

Good morning.
I like the sound of your chicken soup recipe, with the hot spices in it.
Guuurrrl!
I read and reread your post and thought...huh??? I didn't see any mention of a pending grandbaby. Thought I was going nuts.
Sounds like you had a really good and busy Christmas.
Hello Beebs,
I'd say your house has been the "go to" place for food the last week or so.
