DDIL was not happy with their tree purchased at a Menard's.  It was small, crooked and seemed awfully dry.  DS can be.......well........frugal?  But she decided not to make a big deal and just put up the Charlie Brown tree and keep quiet.

By the 22nd, it was not only dry, had turned yellow, needles were dropping all over and they were afraid to turn on the lights, what lights were working that is.  Solution?  Take down tree, put away ornaments, use what lights work, tape on wall in shape of Christmas tree, tape Christmas cards in the middle.  DGD was so enchanted, she wants a "wall tree" from now on.

Oh spatzle....think a very soft noodle batter, eggs, a little milk flour, then instead of rolling it out and cutting noodles, you push the batter through a special sieve where the batter is dropped into boiling water.

Happy New Year everyone.........Hugs TJ

Jane what a creative Ddil you have. Hey it doesn't take up as much space that way.

I've seen Spatzle being made, but didn't know that what it was called.

What a wonderful story about your wall Christmas Tree . We have an artifical tree that doesn't look good at all only with the ornaments on it and so many white lights that light up the room when you turn them on that we had to put the color lights on instead . I love the wall tree the best .

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and now on to a New Year .
