It's here! The last day of 2009!

Aaaahhh day 2 of my 3 days off and NO grandkids! I love my grandkids to pieces, but I love my "me" time too. I'm an early riser and love watching the news or a movie in the quiet of the morning.

My SisIL came in Tuesday with her son.  I had a few minutes after work to regroup, but just a few. I cooked almost a whole Thanksgiving dinner.  It was all so good. My ExDIL brought over our oldest dgs and his sister to visit with my SisIL.  Later my DD, her dh, and their dd showed up to visit with our company. By the time bedtime rolled around, I was exhausted, but happy. My house still echoed with the laughter of children, which is music to my heart.

My Wednesday started off early. The grands started showing up at 6. This is what amazes me. My grands show up in 30 degree temps with flip flops and short sleeve t-shirts! What is my DIL thinking?!? I keep spare clothes here for just that reason. But end up running out of them because they wear them home. I'm constantly finding food for them or clothes.

My SisIL left before lunch. I had to run to the store because I was running out of food for the grands. The rest of the day was nursing hurts and hurt feelings. But all in all, the grands were good.  I even managed a short nap.

Today will be cleaning and finish taking down Xmas.  With Xmas my house is cluttered up again..sigh...I am constantly fighting that bug!

I hope everyone is having a good week and looking forward to a good New Year!

It was about ten degrees the other day when I saw a man (colder teen) come out of his apartment in shorts and flip flops to go the the corner store. I had a heavy jacket, boots, scarf, and mittens to trot over to the same store.

All that company and no help? At least you were surrounded ny family and at least it's over (lol).

Morning Shirley,

I'm here at my desk with cup #1 trying to wake up and start shuffling paper. We have a light workload today which is good cause I'm still catching up from being out a week (warm glow and smile :-).

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your grands. I'll be seeing my little guy this evening. DD & Dsil have invited me to join them to usher in the new year tonight. Family and friends will gather to watch a movie, play games and just be together to welcome 2010.

I really didn't get any decorating done this year so there is nothing to take down and put away. I bought a gingerbread house candle holder from B&BW and a rosemary "tree" at the grocery store. They are both on my kitchen table. I never even got out the holiday place mats. Way too busy LOLOL! Hope your dedecorating (didn't this group make that a word last year?) goes smoothly.

Hugs,

Melissa

Good Morning SS and yes, the last day of 2009...hard to believe it's year end already. I am so happy that you have a houseful of kids and surrounded by family. Even though it's a lot of work and exhausting, it's a very happy tired feeling..glad that you were able to take a nap. I am working today but tonight, dh, Baxter and I will be taking down our tree and will be watching the horror movie Paranormal Activity..LOL..our idea of ringing in the new year. Enjoy your day off today.....

Hello SS!
Good luck with the Tree today - at least it doesn't need to be fed or clothed.

I am not quite ready to take down my Christmas decorations....this weekend probably will do it for me!

The other day I watched as the youngest boy across the street ran out to the mailbox in shorts and flipflops through the snow!

Kathey was "colder teen" a typo or did you mean it? I got a chuckle out of that.--Pat

Shirley Sue, it sounds like you had a busy time. I see people wearing all sorts of things. I don't know how they stand not to wear warm clothes when it is cold outside. It hurts my bones just to look at them.

Our Christmas stuff is put away for another year and I was more than ready. Love Christmas, but love to put it behind for another year. Enjoy your other day off and Happy New Year!--Pat

Melissa have fun bringing in the new year. Sounds like fun. I didn't decorate nowhere near as much as I usually do. So it didn't take near as long.
