I pretty much have the decorations down. It was a different way to spend New Years, but I'm glad I got the stuff put away. This weekend is off and then next week back to work.
DH now has my cold. I'm on the down hill side of it. It was a strange cold.
Sounds like a good plan to get it out of the way and maybe relax a little on the weekend. Sorry DH has your cold - mine lucked out and had a 2 day version of the cold from h#$ll. It's been a long time since I had a cold that lasted for 2+ weeks and would go away then return with a vengeance. Using the nasal wash pot helped me to clean out the sinus passages where I swear the germs had all taken up residence - sorta like that Mucinex commercial were all the family moves into the chest.
It's 7 degrees here and my hobby room is the coldest one in the house - on NE corner, so I won't spend a lot of time here today. I was bummed that DH didn't turn on the space heater in the living room before I got up, but at least my cup of tea was hot & ready.
Very little de decorating to do here. The 2 outside wreaths are full of snow & ice, so they will stay up until who knows when, I just need to disconnect the timer for the lights. Staying inside, watching parades & movies all day.
We took our tree down on Monday. It really got dry from the pellet stove. It's now happily tied to a post outside and, hopefully, will be a place for the birds to get out of the snow. We've still got the outside lights on and the wreaths look beautiful, still. A lot of people in Vermont keep their outside lights on until at least Valentine's Day. I guess because there's usually too much snow to remove them. I'm looking at flower seed packets online. THINK SPRING!!
No dedecorating to be done here. I boxed up the gingerbread house candle holder and took the holiday wrap off the rosemary "tree". Left it on the kitchen table though. It smells good.
Glad you are feeling better. You are smart to just kick back and relax before starting back to work. You don't do that often enough my little energizer rabbit. Your posts usually wear me out just reading them LOLOL! I'm sure you need to conserve just to shovel all the snow I'm sure you will get in the coming months. Enjoy your weekend.

Donna enjoy your quiet morning. You may not have had just a cold. Could have been a virus too.

I heard that Flame had a great New Years Eve!

I had told myself I'd de-decorate this weekend.
