Stuck at home

My car had problems keeping up speed when DH & I headed to DGrS=Ds birthday party, so brought it home. Switched to his car and found the heater fan not working. Missed the party, but am grateful we weren't freezing in a broken down car on the interstate. I'll have my car towed to dealership on Monday, DH thinks he can figure out what's wrong with his. What's wrong is that he seldom drives it and "forgets" to run it when it gets so cold (though he assures me he does).
So, I can't get to Curves on Monday unless I walk 3 blocks to bus stop in single digit temps. One more day cooped up - GRR. I was so looking forward to a normal week with Curves & tutoring. Must find a way to tune DH's irritating comments out.

I recognize the sound of "Cabin Fever" in your post, Jacquie.
Sure hope you can get the car issues settled quickly - so frustrating to be ready to go somewhere and not be able to go.
My car has been towed to the dealer, DH was outside at crack of dawn with a space heater in his car. Once warmed up, the fan worked fine.
I did have a minor meltdown when DH showed me his written description of my car's problem, which I was to convey to the shop. Like I wasn't even in the car when this happened, plus the shop has a computer for diagnostics which will tell them exactly what has happened. He also reminded me to give the tow company exact directions. Sheesh - tow operators around here have GPS, laptops, etc. and can find us easily. What kind of an idiot does he think I am?? I've gotten plenty of mileage from reminding him I drove Blu home, but it doesn't get through his rock hard Swede head. Gotta get out for a while today. Maybe head to library, order a latte and read all the People magazines I can get my hands on.

I hope you soon have your car back and running properly, Jacquie.
He operates under the guise of "helping" me, so no way he'd handle it himself. Big problem is his minimal hearing, so I take care of the phone business when necessary. When he came back in the house & found out I had called the shop & called the auto club for a tow, he backed off. Of course, he did go out to meet the tow truck driver - probably had to tell HIM how to tow a car. I came out long enough to give the driver the car key (which DH didn't think of), sign the paperwork & got back in the house.
Now dressed & heading to Curves. I may stop and get the Chinese takeout we skipped on Christmas Day because of icy roads.
Library vs pub - hmm. Lets see, the pub is across the road, library is 2 miles away. Hard choice some days - LOL.

Isn't it 'funny' how our men always offer "help" when we least want or need it, but when we ask for some help they wait at least two days, and more often a week,
Well, part of the car's problems are now fixed, but it needs to stay in the shop so they can deal with the weird problem - back hatch opens when rear window defrost button is pushed.
Our DS says it's like all appliances/vehicles - they have a limited life before the "mother ship" sends a message and calls them home. He has a wry sense of humor. Hmm, my car turned 10 years on Jan 01....

I hope they were able to figure out that problem with the back hatch on your car.
The engine problem turned out to be a collapsed air hose, easily fixed. But - they were stymied about the hatch opening when rear window heater is turned on. I had to authorize 2 more hours of work to check wiring, computer components etc. Now I know where my retirement savings is gonna go - certainly not cruising around the world.
DHs car is working fine. Hope to go tutoring mid day, but not sure. This extreme cold is making me ache in my hands & legs - hard to type right now. Need good drugs.
