They have already (6:00 pm news) shut down all the schools, libraries, and such for tomorrow, because of all the bad weather coming our way.  Our one Sand truck is on standby and people are making a run on all the stores for "supplies".  The item in biggest demand is bottled water.  I totally don't understand that.  ???
As Pam said, "cold is a matter of perspective". *smile

Here is the forecast for Bossier City.

Thursday...Windy. Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of light rain...Light snow and light sleet in the morning...Then partly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts to near 35 mph in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch possible.

Thursday Night...Windy. Partly cloudy. Colder. Lows 15 to 20. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to near 30 mph.

Friday...Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty.

Friday Night...Mostly clear. Lows 10 to 15. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.

Saturday...Sunny. Highs in the mid 30s.

Just wanted to give you a bit of Southern Perspective when it comes to cold weather.
Me?  I just stay inside unless I have a hot flash.
When I have a Hot flash I go stand on the patio; the one good thing I've found about winter - Hot flash relief!

The basement pipes are well insolated so I don't know if they would freeze or not. I've done that, put food out on the porch, but I put it in Coleman coolers and the dogs and cats leave it alone.

Chains on our tires??? Oh no....that's against the law up here! I know they are required in the mountains in California but they tear up our already horrible highways up here so they are forbidden. My SUV has all-wheel drive but it's not any good on ice!

I'm just staying home, like all the school kids today!
