Snow plow fairy!

When I looked out my front window this morning I could see that my snowplow fairy had been here during the wee small hours!  My DSiL has a plow on the front of his pickup and both are working at the same time (the truck and the plow!) and he isn't working at his "day job" he sometimes slips by and does that for me. What a delightful surprise it is to discover I do not have to go out and deal with the stuff.

We didn't get big huges bunches of the stuff - only about 9 or 10 inches - thank goodness!

I did get out to the drugstore and to our local Meijer store yesterday before we got much of it. Went to Meijer to get some "craft" stuff to use for something for my TOPS group and ended up buying some groceries while I was there. Then got home to discover that I had forgotten to by some of the tea I wanted!  LOL Typical for me, I'm afraid - the forgetting something, that is.

We have our first Victorian Day meeting of the year next week....can it be time to begin planning already!?!  So yesterday afternoon and evening I spent updating and printing a bunch of the paper stuff that we'll need for our meeting!  Our committee chairwoman told me yesterday that the city council is working on increasing the fees demanded for the use of the parks and buildings by a big margin....if that happens our event will go away!  We never make any money on the event (after all, its sole function - besides having fun - is to bring shoppers into the city!) and we barely raise enough money to function as it 'has' been.  The stupid thing is that they want to charge the 'events' functions big bucks, but not the 'sports' functions!  Grrrr!!!

Now, if I can just get this to post!!!!

It doesn't seem to matter what the venue is - "Sports" always trumps anything else.

Seems the city should be paying you for bring in business. Heaven forbid you should need for abandon Victorian Days in the futures, be sure to let the people know whose fault that is.

We didn't get as much snow as predicted in my part of the city (we rarely do). Maybe 4-6 invhrd snf my landlord was here early and plowed the sidewalks. If I couldn't count on my landlord, I'd have to hire a son-in-law (l).

My DH is a snow blower nut, so does our drive, the sidewalk from the side street near us to 4 houses down the block. He also clears the drive for our single gal next to us. She's so appreciative of it, always calls as soon as she gets home safely. She calls us her guardian angels, because DH has helped her out with furnace & lawn mower problem. Heck, she doesn't know that it just makes him feel good to do it for her.

The winds didn't kick up as much snow as predicted, so a light sweeping took care of everything today. Sun was out again - got up to 23 and felt like a heat wave - LOL.

I agree with you that the old attitude is alive and well.

I agree with Karen, check and see if you can meet with a "higher up" about the disparity in the charges for the parks and buildings.
