If memory serves me

I'll be using my sewing machine for the first time in years.  I gave it to DD who decided to get her own.  I dug around and the second time found my sewing box.  I did have to get oil and bobbins.  My instruction book is still hidden.  I think I remember how to wind the bobbin.

The living room drapes need to be a bit shorter.  There are a few things I need to mend as well.  At least I'll have something to do today. Rose is doing laundry because DS is working.  I'll do mine tomorrow.  Such weekend excitement! :(

We did get a dusting of snow the night before.  I didn't have to leave home until noon when most of the roads were clear.

I had a delightful time with the undertaker yesterday.  He's the one that used to play 'funeral' that I told you about last year.  He invited me to the community party he holds every year.  It's in May.  Last year I couldn't go.

Stay safe and warm today.

Hugs,

K

I used to sew, when the light broke in it was about the time I had to get glasses and it was so uncomfortable to try and sew I gave the maching to my daughter....so here are my sewing tips.

This will work for a lot of mending and hemming.

Get a bottle of fabric mender. I got some that hasn't come lose after many washings.

When we had our first fifth wheel camper, the curtains got to be really shabby so I made some new ones with new fabric and the glue.. The last time I heard the people that bought it still have them and that was over 10 years ago.

When the kids were little I would take the old dresses apart that I got from garages sales or my DMIL, you know the ones with the full circle skirts, and make my kids shorts and tops to play in. They always looked so cute. And if they got nasty they were free I could toss them....

I don't think I would put a from scratch outfit togather with glue but everything else..just stick it......lol

Have fun

Retired and lovin'it.
