Good morning ladies,
While so much of the rest of the country is enduring record snow levels, we have absolutely none. We have had three small periods of snow since the middle of November, no more than three-four inches each time, and each has been rained away within a day or two. It has been in the 40s and raining so much lately that there is standing water everywhere and the lawns are mushy. Seems so strange after two winters in a row with record breaking snow. This time last year, we still had three to four feet on the ground.
We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday on the 9th. She has been on her own for the last few months. She is finishing high school at the alternative school and works full time for Farmers Insurance in Spokane. She is a very independent young lady, sometimes too much so.
My son is 20 now and working at a HVAC manufacturer here in town and attending college at the local community college. He is planning on getting an apartment with a friend in the next few months so I will soon have an empty nest.
I am really looking forward to having the peace and quiet of just me and my animals. I don't know if I will ever get in the frame of mind to share my home with someone again. I may consider renting to a student in the future so that I would have someone to look after my animals if I want to travel.
I tried posting half a dozen times yesterday and got a blank page with the message "length required". Does anyone know what was going on with that?
I am hoping that this year goes much better for all of us. This last one was pretty rough for so many families.
I am trying to get some house cleaning done today - my least favorite chore - so will close for now.
Have a wonderful day.
Ellen

Good afternoon, Ellen.
So your little chicks are leaving the nest.
Happy Birthday to your DD on her 18th Birthday.
Sounds like they are each employed and working on their education!!
they really like washington though.
my husband took HVAC classes in high school and worked in that profession for the first 20 years of our marriage. i was really glad when he got out of it. lol
Hi Ellen! Empty nests are so COOL! Unfortunately, two of ours boomeranged back! Eastern Long Island is such an expensive place to live and they had no other options. So, DH and I ran away from home - permanently! One of the best decisions we ever made.
Take care and have a good day. Gail
