Men and heavy lifting...

You know how some of you ladies sometimes are threatening to use SS's shovel on your DH's and I tend to say, "men are only good for heavy lifting?" Well...I proved my theory today. LOL
Today I was cleaning and getting ready for company coming tomorrow evening for dinner. I had 3 very very heavy large boxes that needed to go down to the basement and there was no way I could lift them. I kind of shoved them into available corners out of the way where they've been "living" for a few weeks...destined to stay for a while. A little before noon my doorbell rang and lo and behold...a man stood there!! Just when you need one! Actually it was a friend of mine who I've known since I was 5 and he was just stopping in to see how I was doing. (He use to stop in and see Mama Blu sometimes too...and even picked BB up at the airport for me when she flew in for Mama Blu's Memorial Service.)
He said he was just stopping in to see how things were going and to see if I needed anything. LOL Uh...as a matter of fact, I said...and showed him my dilemma. He hopped to it and got all 3 heavy boxes down to the basement in short order and then put my new license plates on my car for me! Yay!!
What a good guy he is and how lucky I am to have such good friends.

I know! I love when that happens.
Good to see you back here and posting! Welcome back!!
Thanks! You know what happens? I just get so busy -- and I spend a lot of time on the computer for my home business, plus time on the phone and I just forget to look at the boards! I am also on Facebook - I have found so many of my old high school class mates, it's pretty funny.
I'm still having trouble navigating around ivillage and finding the message boards, etc. silly, huh?
Yesterday I cleaned out all the bills from the past year for taxes, yuch! I always seem so far behind!
We got 12 inches of snow last night into today -- DH plowed this morning, but I went out and there was another 4 inches this afternoon. I took the cub cadet and plowed some more; in the process I got the thing stuck at the end of the driveway! Blah! So he had to shovel it out when he got home from work!
I am still trying to talk him into letting me go to Phoenix for our national conference -- he's still not convinced! I guess I'll have to crunch the numbers. We are already taking a vacation in March, I guess he feels it's another expense (but an important one for my business! Hrmph!) Yea, yea, we spend way too much money. We've got to play catch up sometime! Things will be SO much easier when my youngest is out of college.
Thanks for letting me ramble...
Whenever I let go, something good happens. My mantra is "The Secret". It did have some good ideas that stuck with me. I don't remember it saying anything about "...and a man of strength will appear". Hmmm, maybe the book needs an addendum 'cuz I totally agree with you!!!! Take care. Just, Judy
He came along at exactly the right time.
BTW, who's coming to dinner?
Are you having a Dinner Party you've not told us about?
How could you??
I'm having 2 girlfriends over for dinner Deb...not exactly a "dinner party." They are former co-workers and we try to get together to catch up once a month. Very informal. Sometimes we just order a pizza, sometimes we just each bring a snack...whatever strikes our fancy. I just felt like cooking this time. I'm making a Mexican Chicken dish.
Sonny even took a bath for the occasion! LOL
Awwww......what a nice guy G. is.
"Ask and ye shall receive!"
I do have some awesome friends Katie...cyber and real time!
I'll let you in on a little secret...I went on a job interview today! It's for a secretarial position at one of our Jr. High Schools here in town. My bff's DSIL found out about it and that's how I heard. They are interviewing 20 candidates today and then doing callbacks from those 20. Keep your fingers crossed and maybe say a little prayer.
Hugs,
