January thaw...

That is what some folks in this area are calling the weather we are having. Hmmmm...... well, it is thawing a wee bit. The temps have been up above freezing for the past few days. But I was hoping for something up in the 50s!! It is 34º here right now and that is 'above freezing'!! Tomorrow the temps are supposed to reach the low 40s. I've been chipping away at the icy crap piled at the foot of my driveway a bit each day since Wednesday. Maybe if we get the predicted rain tomorrow it will all be gone and I can walk safely to my mail box again!
We are scheduled to begin having colder temps and more snow starting Monday sometime. Of course! I have to drive out to our VD meeting on Wednesday and that seems to 'require' either snow or icy road conditions!
Each year my need for spring and my hatred for winter gets started earlier! I either need to move to a warmer state or readjust my attitude I guess! The trouble with moving to a warmer state though is that I'd then have to put up with hotter summers....and I kvetch about that bad enough up here in Michigan!!
Sometimes it feels as if all I ever do is gripe about something! Talk about needing a change of attitude!!!!!!

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!

I agree...I need that attitude change too Katie. I don't mind it SO much if the weather is doing "something." It's these wet cold gray days that get me down. They seem to be endless and depressing. If winter was only 3 months long instead of 6-8 it wouldn't be SO bad. I'm just sick of it. Come on spring!!!!
Good luck with your ice/snow berm.
Call me a "Genius",
I predict your attitude and the weather will both change come Spring!
Hang in there!
Change your latitude, change your attitude, Katie.
I agree this winter is really being a drag.
Kvetching about the weather seems to be something I am extremely good at!
When I read about the people who live in cold climates, it just reminds me when I never returned to IL once I moved away.
I decided that as I grew older I probably didn't want the ice and cold and the danger of broken bones.
