It is "slow" TV season right now so I decided it would be good time to take my VCR / DVD recorder player in to have it fixed. The VCR side of it was not rewinding or forwarding quite right. I disconnected it, packed it up in its box and took it out to the car this morning. When I opened the back door of the car I noticed that the dome light did not come on and wondered if it had never done so?!! Opened the front door and it still didn't come on. Hmmmm, well that happens sometimes when I've blown a fuse. Got in and turned the key......nothing, not even a whimper. Apparently I had left the trunk lid open a wee tiny bit (just enough fot trunk light to stay on!) when I got stuff out of the trunk Wednesday afternoon. Dead battery. Okay, I can plug in the charger and be on my way in about half an hour. Oops.....my DS has the charger out to his house!
I called AAA! Then I called my DS and told him, "I have a dead battery and you have the charger!" He said, "oops!!". Lotsa sympathy I got there! I told him I had called AAA and they were on their way. While I was talking to him I turned the TV on to watch.....nothing. Couldn't figure out why till I remembered that the recorder/player was in line ahead of the TV on the cable line, and with that out of the circuit there was no TV!
About half an hour later I was headed off to my original destination! The recorder/player has been sent into the factory for repair and I should have it back in a couple of weeks. While I was out I went by JC Penny and Target for a few items. When I got home I called my DS and asked him which cable I was supposed to hook up where to have my TV back! 'Tis working now!
Tomorrow night I am meeting Syl's family at Cheddar's to celebrate Syl & Chris's 20th year together! When he called me about it yesterday he also asked if I'd be interested in going to see "Avatar" with them on Sunday and out to dinner to Mitchell's Fish Market. Assuming that Syl feels up to going somewhere two days in a row. So this could be a very fun weekend coming up.
My DS was going to come over Sunday to help me work on my computer, but if we go out instead he'll come over on Monday. He and I are pretty flexible in our plans!!!
I contacted a company about coming out to remove the big old Weeping Willow that is in my back yard. It is very old and broken and needs to be gone before it (or a part of it) falls on something (like my shed or my house!). The ground has been snow covered most of the winter so far and they have to wait a couple of weeks for the freeze to go deep enough so the big truck doesn't sink into my yard. But it will be gone soon!!
I need to move from this frigid 'office' to the warmth of my living room for a while!

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!

I'd say you got a deal all the way around, KT!
The company that is removing my tree has done other work in the area and I know they are pretty good.
