a "first" for me

Busy Saturday here, but a COLD one.
Our high was only 36 which will probably make it one of the coldest days of the year for us. Cloudy and overcast too, but thankfully nothing "wet" to deal with.
A friend hosted a "Swap til You Drop" this morning.
This was a "first" for me and I enjoyed it a lot.
It's definitely something we all agreed to do again.
I thought you might enjoy reading about it, "HERE".
Have you ever been to anything like this?
It's a great alternative to re-purposing, recycling, or re-gifting.
Later we went to pick out the new faucet for the kitchen
and YES, I talked dh into purchasing a new sink also.
Sure wish he could install it as it would save us $$,
but I'm glad to get it regardless. Hope the guy can come install it one day next week as I'm getting tired of messing with the leaking water.
I've talked with my entire Tulsa bunch and they all have their electricity and are faring well with the yukky weather. Hope all of you are safe and warm too. Time to go get my warm "jammies" on.
'Night all!

Deb I read about your Swap til you drop on FB. Loved it! I also left you a comment.
Congrats on the faucet. I'm so lucky my dh is so handy around the house. I don't have to wait for someone to come to my house to do it. I just have to wait for him to have the time. But yes, be thankful you got it.
Glad all the Tulsa folks have their lights. I was seeing 500 here and 500 there in different towns in Oklahoma that didn't have lights. Got to be bad. Hope those people have fireplaces.
We got rain on and off here today. I sure hope we don't have anything frozen tomorrow when I get up. I hate having to thaw a vehicle
I've never heard of that kind of an event Deb but it sounds like so much fun and would love to have one with my gf's here! I've got a couple questions about it. Did a bowl end up next to each item to collect all the clothespins pinned to it or did the Leader just go from item to item at the end and put the clothespins for that item into the bowl and then call out the winner? How many ladies attended and how many items were there to pick from? Were there some items that ended up with only one clothsepin on it...so you automatically got it in the end?
The items you came home with were fun and original...love them!
I'm so glad you family in OK are hanging in there with power and are weathering the storm w/o problems. I've been following it on the news and it looks horrible.
I've been having trouble getting into FB this afternoon and evening...have you?
Hugs,
Let's see -
There were 10 of us there.
We could ea. bring up to (but not more than) 10 items.
Most brought 10 items, some brought less.
You were given one clothespin (with your name printed on it) for each item you brought, so I had 10 clothespins to "spend".
Sounds like a good idea, Deb!
Hey, you got nothin' on us! It's 17 degrees here!!! That's pretty cold for us, too.....
I"m snowed in...so guess I'll do something constructive...
HAGD!
That sounds like a hoot, Deb!!
Well, third time's a charm.
Swap till you drop sounds like a lot of fun.....You got some neat stuff.
We put in a new faucet on our kitchen sink last March. We came home from the camper in maybe Aug. And when we got home I turned on the faucet and water ran out from under it worse than the old one. So we shut the water off to the sink and left....When we came home Del found out it was just that the washers were dry once he got them reset it has been fine since...but I need a sink, cupboards, counter tops floor, paint and everything in between in my kitchen. Nothing as been done but a new dish washer and frig in 20 years......but then the whold house needs help.....and it is not getting done till we are done camping....
Talked to my DD2 in Prague Saturday night and her DSIL and family were still staying with them because they still didn't have lights..
Oh Gee, I bet your DD will be thrilled when her company can GO HOME.
