The huge willow tree that used to be in my back yard is now just a big stump! The fellows showed up here Tuesday about half past noon. They wandered around the yard looking it over, left with a truck full of logs from another job they had just done and came back about half an hour later with that truck empty! Shortly after 3 they left again and my tree went with them! It took 3 trucks to do the job: a dump truck with a huge clam bucket on it to pick up the heavy logs and haul them away in, a chipper truck to grind up all of the stuff that was 10" or smaller in diameter and a 'cherry picker' truck with the bucket from which the main saw-man worked! There was a huge limb that had fallen about 2 years ago and landed across the fence on the State property behind my yard...they even took it away! I will most certainly recommend this company to anyone who should ever ask me about tree removal!!! My neighbor (just next door) called me later in the evening all bent out of shape that they had "left that stump out there"! I'm not sure she approves of the fact that I opted to keep it! Oh well, too bad!!!!!! I'm attaching a before and after picture for you to see.
I'm also attaching a picture of the little teddy bear (sorry, BB!!) that one of our TOPS gals crocheted to be used as a gift for our Chapter contest that ends the Tuesday after Valentines Day. I think he is just adorable! He is about 2' tall.
My DS came out both Tuesday and Wednesday to help me rid my computer of Microsoft XP and reload it. I had been having some problems with it since that virus hit me a year or so ago - think some of the registry got messed with back then. I convinced him to stay for supper Wednesday...it was nice cooking for him again! Now I am trying to get everything reloaded again. That will all get done "in time"!! It is much easier moving around here on the board again now though!!
I need to get myself dressed so I can tote the trash out to the curb!! Be back later....

You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!

It will be interesting to see what you come up with for that stump.
I wonder how long it took her to make that teddy?
It took her about a week, Shari.
Katie, it looks like a pretty cool stump to me. It will be interesting to see what you do with it. I don't really see why your neighbor would care one way or the other. It's your stump.
That teddy bear is adorable. Perfect for Valentine's Day.
I'm glad your DS could come and help with your computer and the two of you could spend some nice time together.--Pat
You think those tree guys would travel to IL??? LOL I sure need them...they did a great job and I know they were reasonable.
I like the idea of leaving the stump to use as a planter or whatever. Too bad your neighbor doesn't like it...like Pat said, it's not her stump!
Cute teddy bear Katie. Sounds like a lot of work.
Wow, that is....or should I say *was*....a big willow!
Blu, I'm sure that just getting their trucks to your part of the country would cost an arm & a leg.
She is just one of those 'nosy neighbors', Pat!!
