Hump Day already......

I'm trying to catch up with all the posts I've missed, but have run out of time for now.  I need to get ready to go to exercise, then run a couple of errands, but I'll be back later to do more catching up with everyone.

Meanwhile, before I sign off.......a couple of random thoughts....I feel the need to complain this morning, so BEAR with me....

Speaking of bears (nice segue, huh?...lol), I saw an ad on TV for the Vermont Teddy Bear company, and how men should give their wife/GF one of the bears for Valentine's Day.  They say something like, "Flowers just die," and "boxes of chocolates don't last" (actually, they DO last....on my hips...but I digress, sorry....), but "your valentine will cuddle and love this bear forever" or words to that effect.  Are they serious?  If my DH gave me a stuffed bear for V-day,  he'd be sleeping on the couch that night!....lol.

Food ramblings.....

Sweet Potatoes......I baked some in the oven last night and they were quite yummy.....Slice potatoes into "french fry" size, put in plastic bag with about 2 TBLS. of olive oil, a little Kosher salt, and toss to coat.  Bake on cookie sheet (I used a piece of foil on the sheet for easy clean-up...sprayed with Pam so the pot. don't stick) at 400* for 20 minutes, then toss the potatoes and turn heat up to 425* and bake another 10-20 minutes until done.  (Watch them so they don't burn.)  Yummy, and sweet potatoes are so good for you.

Stevia......good grief, I bought a box of that stuff and can hardly wait to get to the store today and buy some good ol' Splenda again.  Stevia tastes like licorice and I can't stand licorice!  Yuck!  I'm going to toss the Stevia.......it is awful!

Panko....Deb, you might do this already, but just in case, here's an idea.  I baked some chicken a couple of nights ago, and coated it will panko, mixed with grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.  Dip chicken breasts in flour, then egg, then the panko (with cheese and seasoning mixed in).   The chicken was soooo good -- a definite "have again."

Well, I need to get going.  I'll be back later to do more catching up.  Have a good day, Ladybugs!

Good morning BB, Pam, and everyone else to come.

BB hope you eventually get caught up on the board. You have been missed. Glad to see you back home.

The sweet potatoes and chicken sound delicious.

Good Morning BB and welcome back! I'm never going to get caught up here so I don't even try. I only have 20-minutes every morning to come online and most days just don't have the time to visit the garden...vent away girl..I am one of those weird women who don't like flowers and certainly don't eat chocolates..cheap date that's for sure..and no stuffed animals either..Dh usually buys me a Mrs Fields package for our anniversary and gets sent to work and people at work end up eating them and no balloons either......dh is cooking a nice home cooked meal instead for our anniversary dinner so that's nice..Gotta run, have a great day!

I can't remember exactly how the "bear thing" started, but I think that one time when Blu and I were out shopping and saw some cutesy little bear/doll thing, I said to her,

I remember that! My first Bugfest...it was so much fun!

BTW, I was told the other day that I was pronouncing Panko wrong.
