snowy Texas. It's been snowing steadily here for about twelve hours. That in and of itself is amazing. The snow is the really heavy wet kind. I've been having snowball fights with anybody who's still got enough kid in them to play (not many sadly). We have between 6 and 7 inches and snowfall is supposed to continue for another 8 hours. Roads are wet and slushy and the prediction is for dropping temps after the snow stops so the slush will freeze overnight. For the moment though this Texan is living a kids dream. I'll worry about getting to work in the morning when I wake up LOLOL!

Hope that all of you snowbugs are warm and safe. I'm going to try and read posts now.

Picture is the live oak in my front yard.

Wow...now you're starting to look a lot like Illinois!!! I'm glad you're enjoying it. You can do that when you don't have to deal with it from November through March! Be careful driving in it tomorrow gf!

It's so strange to see snow in TX!
What an unusual winter it is.
As you know, we have snow too, but as of now not as much as you.

It's official. We had a record snowfall of 12.5 inches. The media is calling a "once in a century" snowfall for this area. The last record was about 8 inches back in 1964.

I was out with a fan rake this morning pulling the snow off of the car and from behind the car so I could get out of my driveway. The streets were still slushy on the drive in, but the temperature is now below freezing and the overpasses and bridges are predicted to become a problem before it starts warming up. Our biggest problem is power outages from the trees being weighed down. This snow was very wet and heavy, but it is so beautiful everywhere I look.

Shirley, I'm sorry that it is headed your direction, but your grands will probably have a great time building snow creatures if you get enough. This snow is perfect for playing.

Well, now that I'm at work they expect me to do some (work), so I guess I better look busy. Later...

Hugs,

Melissa
