I got back today (Thur) after spending Wed night stuck at the hospital. White out conditions were present, so we were trapped!!!!
A bunch of fellow day shifters were there with me. It wasn't comfortable, but it was bearable. At least we had some (horrible but free) food, coffee, etc. We watched TV in the solarium, bunked in empty rooms, had hot showers avail and clean scrubs to change into for pjs'.
But I felt soooo nasty this am when I had to work for 4 hrs in a day-old uniform.
And to day was supposed to be my day off! Got home around noon and CRASHed til about 3-4 pm. Hope I can sleep tonight, have another 12 hr day tomorow!!Then off for the weekend! Yippee, hope it doesn't snow, would love to go look for another pr of boots.
Here's hoping none of you bugbabes have to go thru anything like that!!

Gosh, you guys are really getting hit hard. Were you eating regular hospital food or did you have to eat something different than the patients eat? Glad you finally got home safe and sound.
Sweet dreams tonight.
I have "enjoyed" my fair share of those slumber parties in the past 30+ years. I gave a serious heartbeat of thought to doing that tonight, but once I got home decided that I'd take my chances driving on the ice to get back to the hospital in the morning. Actually the drive is not usually the bad part, it's hiking across the hospital campus from the employee lot. They never sand anything. I still may drive back tonight. My power keeps flickering and if it goes I can't use my CPAP to sleep. Hope you have a good day tomorrow and enjoy your weekend off.
Hugs,
Melissa
Becky that does not sound like a fun slumber party at all. Not sure I would deal well with being stuck at work for that long.
Ohhh, and I thought I had it bad...lol
I almost had to stay at an asst living place when it snowed.

What an adventure you had!
