Do you know about 'Quick Launch'?

How many of you know about the "Quick Launch" bar on your computer?
For those who do not, please let me tell you a neat trick for getting quickly to the various applications you have on your computer. Things such as your word processor, your spyware scanner, your photo processing package, or anything else for which you currently have in icon on your desktop.
Using this will keep you from having to go back to your desk top to open any of those application while you are doing something else.
If you right click on the blue task bar at the bottom of your screen you will be given some options - one of them is "Toolbars". If you move your cursor over that word it will open a mini option screen. There you will see the words 'Quick Launch' - if you click on that a small bar area will open on that blue task bar.
Now go back to your desktop and click and drag any of your application icons down to that Quick Launch bar. That bar will stay there until you turn it off and you need only click on the icon that is there to instantly launch (no double clicking necessary!!) that application. You may leave the icon still on your desktop OR if your desktop is terribly cluttered (mine used to be!!) you can delete those icons from your desktop and actually see the wall paper you have selected to see there instead!
I love this feature and thought I'd share it with ya'll!
You are loved ~~ far more than you may ever know!

BTW - deleting any icon from your desktop (the ones with the little arrow on them are the only ones you can delete!) does NOT delete the application from your computer it only removes the shortcut icon from your desktop. You can go back into Start/Programs and put a shortcut back on your desktop any time you want to. Or you can drag it back from your Quick Launch bar.

Thank you Katie...you always come up with something helpful. I think I learned this tip somewhere along the line...and quickly forgot it. Probably in one of those 8 hour training classes where they try to teach you everything about the computer in one day! By 2:00 I'm glazing over!! LOL
