Our 40 yr old DS has completed requirements AND has been granted a Bachelor of Science from the UI. He began this degree 20 years ago, but business & family got in the way. He has taken courses at the local Jr. college for the last 3 years in order to complete the requirements. When I asked if they were going to mail it to him, he replied that he'll take part in ceremonies in May, wants to set a good example for his 2 girls. His next move will be to get certified to teach Science in Jr. Hi.

This is the kid who refused to take part in his HS graduation, just had the diploma mailed. So, there's hope for all - LOL.

I am so proud of him for hanging in there and pursuing his dreams.

Hi Jacquie,

I can tell how very happy you are and rightly so. My dad finished his degree at 51. He was so proud, and so was I. I can imagine that you and your husband are overjoyed at your son's accomplishment. I hope that he achieves his dream of becomming a teacher.

Hugs,

Melissa
