I completed my first week at work and they didn't throw me out so I guess I've still got a job!! LOL I'm really liking it...I'm busy all the time but it's not high stress...just what I wanted. The people are so nice...everyone stops by and introduces themselves...right down to the CEO's Asst. I even found a neighbor of mine working there...I didn't know her before but we know mutual people in the neighborhood. I'm still getting used to the later hours but that will come with time. I'm sure it will get better in the next couple of weeks with the time change.
Three of my former co-workers took me out to breakfast yesterday morning at our local pancake house (Swedish pancakes...yum)...they're all very jealous of my new job. Things at my old place of business are just terrible. Everyone is very unhappy and always afraid of losing their jobs...always looking over their shoulders. Bad working conditions.
Yesterday afternoon I met my bff at the movies and we saw the new Bruce Willis movie, "Cop Out." Most reviewers gave it a terrible review but People magazine gave it 3 out of 4 stars. I don't listen to any of those reviews usually...I just go see what I want to. We really liked it...it was fun (some bad language...so if that offends you, don't see it). But the interaction between Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan was good. I see more movies together for these two.
We did our usual Starbucks afterwards for "coffee talk" and I was home by 7:45...in time to watch the free style figure skating and 4 man bobsleds.
Doing laundry today and some grocery shopping and hope to wind up my taxes. I think I finally found the missing piece to my tax puzzle. Hope it's acceptable to the accountant...it should be ok. I just want to get them in the mail.
Cloudy and around 35*-40* here today...not bad. Just so happy February is over...the end of winter is near!!!!!! If we make it to March there is light on the horizon and we've lived through another horrible winter. This was a bad one. We had snow on the ground 70 out of 90 days...making it the 4th snowiest winter ever. I can certainly attest to that! I'm sick of it.

Hi Blu,
I'm so happy to hear that your new job is so agreeable. If it continues to be that way then it was worth the wait. I sincerely hope that this is a much better year for you.
Hugs,
Melissa
Hey, for a gal who has been without the need to get up and go to work every day - at any time - for a year, the time difference at your new job should be a snap!!!
Sonny is not a happy camper right now. He's not adjusting well. He's had someone with him almost constantly for 3 1/2 years now and he's p.o.'d!!! He's fine in the morning and talks up a blue streak while I'm getting ready for work but when I go to lock him up when I leave around 11:10 he scrambles out and tries to bite me and starts screaming at me. Of course by the time I get home it's time for him to be covered up. I've tried to spend extra time with him today as I was out all day yesterday.
Really!!!!! OMG!!! Any idea when you'll be coming up? If I can help with any of the plans just let me know. I'll be happy to. Yes, I'll plan on taking a vacation day and taking the train to the City and meeting up with you for sure. I can't believe I'll get to meet your family and that you really want to show them Chicago!!!! How cool is that!!??!!!
Blu so glad you are loving your job. That goes so far in the job.
I'm really glad you like your new job.
I got your voice mail message this afternoon Donna...I was on my way home from the grocery store and must have just missed you. I unpacked my groceries and then got involved in the USA vs. Canada hockey game.
I'm sure Sonny will get used to the new routine eventually...as will I.
Yes, I'm really very glad to be out of my old place of employment. Last year was really a struggle but in the end it all turned out the way it's supposed to be!
