Someone in the town just to the north of me moved their house and it was captured on video. One day (years ago) I headed up town and the main street was closed because a huge home was being moved right down the middle of it!! It's really quite interesting if you've never seen it done. It takes a lot of preparation.

Hope the link works.

Oh yes.
I hadn't thought about this in years, but when I was a kid my parents bought an old house and had it moved onto some property and used it as rental property.

Many, many times. Small shed type buildings, one story houses, 2 story houses and churches one with the steeple and one with it removed. Brick ones and wood ones...Everyone knows when they will be moved because the paper and the radio station probably tv too but I don't get local anymore..all warn that your lights will be out between this and that time because they are moving something... sometimes they are able to just lift the lines other times they have to take them down for the building to pass... I have also gone and watched them get one ready and load one. A lot of work goes into to the whole process......none the less....it is still awesome to see one coming down the country road or the highway......

Blu, last year, when the city bought our house they sold it to someone who moved it. My kids were pretty sentimental about the old house (where they grew up). My DDIL was on the way to work one morning and saw the people moving it, so called DS and he caught up with them (not hard, LOL)
