Hi Girls,
Our women's group is planning a Tea for May so I've been trying out some new recipes. The one I tried yesterday was a real "Keeper".
DD and DH were in total agreement. It's easy and a bit unusual because it uses Kool Aid in the recipe. This makes a delicate cookie which would be great with either Tea or Coffee. (and they're very pretty)
Lemon Kool-Aid Cookies
2 sticks butter (don't substitute margarine)
1/3 C Granulated Sugar
1/2 t. Vanilla
1/2 t. Kool Aid Lemonade unsweetened drink mix powder
2 C Flour
Coating Mix:
Place these ingredients into a small baggie
1 C. Powdered Sugar
1/2 t Kool-Aid Lemonade unsweetened drink mix powder
Directions:
Cream together softened Butter, Granulated Sugar, Vanilla and Kool Aid.
Add Flour slowly and work into a dough.
With Floured hands,
Roll into 1" balls and bake 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet at 350
for 15 min. (they will not be brown) *Don't overcook
Let cookies rest for 5 min.
(but not longer as they must be tossed while they are warm)
Then put a few at a time into the baggie of Powdered Sugar and toss lightly.
Put onto a plate to cool
Makes about 3 dozen melt-in-your-mouth cookies.

Deb, they do sound good and meet my requirement of 'easyl.'
I once met a woman who made thread and would dye it with Kool Aid.
