finally some good news

ds1 called today and said ddil1 had the second ultrasound. the baby is definitely a girl and she is fine. whatever showed up before is gone!! he also told me that they are not deploying in the fall afterall. seems quite a few people had problems when they came back last year. so, they have to wait 18 - 24 months now before they can deploy again. then he told me that there is a possibility that they are going to change duty stations and go to hawaii.
it was nice to hear something good for a change.

Thanks for the good wishes. Things have settled down a bit and we are all sleeping better. DGS had his first 8 hour eval at VA hospital and is taking anti-anxiety RX, which is helping. He is staying with his DSis and her family for now. She watches 2 of his 3 girls 3 morning a weeks and he is very happy to be having time to spend with them. Somewhere along the way, his DW will also need counseling to learn how to deal with any confrontations they may have. I've learned that, like so many of the vets, he refused to admit the problem for fear he would be stigmatized. I truly hope this will be the end to his military service, though he continues to be a drill instructor with the local Guard unit. Thankfully, that's a far cry from being overseas.
