Hi Girls,
I know many of you are "pet people" like me, so I know you won't mind if I share this...When I left the house today at 1:15 Kramer was perfectly fine. When Princess and I returned home at 4:15 something was very obviously wrong. He was dazed and having trouble walking, stumbling into the wall, etc., drooling uncontrollably and had vomited and had "accidents" all through the house. I immediately put him into the car and drove to the Vet. All the Vet techs seemed to think he had had a stroke (the left side of his body is drooping), however the Vet says it's either an inner ear infection or a Tumor. That seems strange to me. ??? My favorite of the two Vet's was not in today, but the one we saw is actually older and much more experienced. He treated him for an inner ear infection and said we would see how he was in the morning. Since we've been home he has not even walked at all. I have carried him to his bed and he is listless.
He's 15........I know.
Please pray that if he can recover and be well, that will happen
but if that's not possible, that he will not suffer.
Thanks girls,
~deb

I have a 14 year old dog that is going blind and I think is also deaf. They become so much part of the family, it's hard to think of life without them. Hope Kramer gets well soon.

Deb, I hope Kramer recovers. But also too, if it is something that will have him in pain, I hope he goes quickly.
Oh Deb, my heard aches for you, your family and for Kramer.
Deb,
I am so sorry. Having one of our pets ailing is so worrisome, especially since they can't tell us what is wrong. This does sound like a stroke. My boss just had to put his 13 year old dog down after she had her second stroke. She was walking into walls and, after the second one, kept falling over on the one side.
What my vet and his staff keep telling me when I lose one of my pets is to remember that we gave them a wonderful life. It is still so hard to let go.
I hope this isn't the case yet with Kramer. You will be in my thoughts.
Ellen
I weep for you, Deb, and the decision that may be yours should Kramer not respond to the meds he now has.
Thanks for all your concern for Kramer.
I talked with the Vet this morning and he had me bring him back in.
Aw Deb...I'm so sorry you're going through this with Kramer. My little shih tzu, Chester, was 16 when he had his stroke. The vet, my ex-boyfriend, was so good with him and kept him by his side for a couple of days trying to "make him better."
This is the worst part of having furbabies. I hope Kramer responds to the treatment and the TLC he's getting at home. My love to you and your family Deb. I know how hard this is.
Hugs,
Deb, hugs and prayers for Kramer, you and your family. It hurts so much when our pets are hurting, because they are part of the family. I hope he is better today and continues to improve.
Deb, I hope Kramer is better now.
