Normal day - at last

I was back to reading tutoring in the early afternoon, then trip to library, post office, Hancock Fabrics, Menards and Hobby Lobby. Whew - that's more than I've done in 3 weeks. When I walked in the door DH was on the phone with a man who is researching family info for a book, so spent an hour on the phone with him. Oh yes, I'll make an old budget standby also - ham croquettes. Shades of our newly wed days.

Worst part of the day was the free 5 lb ham DH picked up as our "reward" for shopping at store. Never liked the brand, took one bite & almost gagged. The consistency is nasty. As DH will eat just about anything labeled "HAM", I'll pick up some frozen fish for several dinners for me. One thing the stuff WILL be good for is ham salad. Once through the food processor & mixed with stuff, it will be fine.

DH is watching/dozing to "V", I just can't get into it. Give me a CSI action show any time. Making a new tote bag, needed more supplies that I imagined. No, Pam, it's not ladybug fabric. This time it's butterflies - my fav. I'm awaiting delivery of an embroidery machine, so will have plenty of playing to keep me out of trouble when the TV shows go into rerun mode.

Jacquie, isn't it nice that we all have our favorite shows to watch?

We have separate TV's for the times we don't agree. Fortunately, we both like the forensic drama shows, lately we've bee hooked on the series Mad Men. But when he insists on watching war documentaries with the same stock footage we've seen a zillion times, I'm outta there. I must admit that once I checked out Pawn Stars, I was hooked. I'm grateful that my TV is in my hobby/computer room. That way I can can multi-task & ignore the commercials.

WalMart has a nice cut piece of ham we like, can't remember the brand, but it is very lean & not too salty. It is real meat, not something pressed through a machine.

Oh Didi drives us nuts!! Last night was just awful.

Shioban is OK. But I can't stand that scream she does. Simon keeps telling her do something else but, will she listen? I thought the boots looked stupid with the dress.
