Love my WiiFit

When it arrived a month ago, I got my stats in and a password, then I got sick. Today I fired it up, did 3 yoga poses & some aerobics. This thing is great for seniors! It thought I'd just watch the screen and do stuff. No way. It is interactive - most of the moves are done on the platform, which senses your balance and screen shows if you are using one side more than the other. This is great for improving posture & distributing weight evenly. The programming is such that when I did a yoga pose with one foot off the platform, it warned me when my weight wasn't evenly distributed. Of course, when I tried moving my hips doing hula hoop moves, I failed miserably. The platform again sensed my movements and knew when I would have dropped the hoop. I'm actually looking forward to doing this on Friday.

Our daughter loves her Wii Fit and says we should get one. Especially for those long Vermont winters. Can you tell me though....We have pine floors in our living room which is a very soft wood. Would we need to put the pad in a rug to protect the floor? What's on the bottom of the pad? Thanks. Gail

We have pine floors. The platform has non-skid rubber feet. No problem. I like that it is less than 3" high, so step aerobics is not hard on my old knees.

I will be glad when I know more about how it works, because then I can customize workouts with certain elements, i.e. 20 min stepping + 10 min Yoga + 20 minute strength, etc.

My Wii console was used on eBay and came with a guarantee. Also bought the WiiFit system with platform & software on eBay.
