We've had the family over yesterday...everything went well, the oven worked and didnt cut out, the water was running and we had plenty of hot water. The only down side was my DS didn't come until after we'd all finished lunch, stayed in his room and then left without saying anything.
Previously on Good Friday, I'd tried to grill some Hot Cross Buns but the grill and everything electrical kept cutting out. We have a safety switch, so will have to get the circuit checked out, had to turn fridges and kettle off so we could grill.
After we'd cleared the table DH, DD and some friends played Table Tennis. My DH used to be an A grade player. A friend who came to lunch as well, is 90 years old and also a good player. It was great to see them enjoying themselves whilst I cleared up.
Hope you all had a great day, not too many chokie eggs - bad for the weight.

It's so good for families to be together.
It sounds like a wonderful day, even if DS didn't choose to participate.
Happy Easter to you also. DS and his family came and it was lovely - he'd even bought a couple of eggs so that I could give them to the kids - it was their first Easter! I think that they were very impressed. The little girl has had a Christmas here, one before last, but the boy has not. He gets enough joy out of a simple sketch book - he draws all the time and is very good.
DS has always given/sent him gifts for the last couple of years, but they always had to be shared and often given to his cousins. He is wide eyed about having things that are his whenever he wants them. I know that I am prejudiced, but they are lovely kids, sure they can be naughty, but that is rare. My DDIL has done a wonderful job with them. DS can be quite stern, never had much to do with kids, but he is gradually relaxing slightly.
Loved the sound of the table tennis game, it must have been fun to watch. Looking back, we used to all play a lot, but it is so long ago now.
Hope all your utility services are restored quickly, makes it a strain to do anything when you are never sure that they are going to function. Love and hugs, Jenni
Lesley, isn't it wonderful that we can be so flexible that we can overcome problems?
