I have had my little guy most of the day. His daddy as well as one of my other DSs and my Dh and DGS all went to opening day for the Royals today. They stopped somewhere to eat so pretty well made an evening of it.( DDIL has to work until 11) DGS was surprised that he got to go. DD waited until he got up this morning and griped about having to go to school, which he does every Monday morning, and told him okay he didn't have to go today, he could go to a ballgame instead. He didn't believe her at first. Thought she was playing a cruel joke on him, I guess. lol Anyway, he was thrilled.
DGD just got back last Monday from Barcelona Spain. The soccer team went there during Spring Break and played with some of the local teams. A couple of times, the coach let them choose between watching a proffessional soccer game or shopping. My DGD chose watching the games. No surprise there! She had a great time.
Well, I better go back and check on DGS. I am getting to watch him a lot and thoroughly enjoying it, although I am well aware now that I am 11 years older than the last time we had a baby in the family. LOL--Pat

Awwwwww....how wonderful! Nothing like a newborn sleeping!
What a fun thing your DD did for your DGS...that's something he'll remember forever.
Barcelona, Spain? I would LOVE to see Spain. What a lucky girl your DGD is to have experienced that in her young life.
Enjoy that wee one and get your hugs and kisses in while you can!!!
Love having a sleeping baby in the house. Babies to me are the fountain of youth. I love holding and smelling them. Newborn grands are just something else.
OK, just call me jealous...and that's of TWO things:
1.
Pat, I know that it has been harder for me to deal with the kids.

Pat, you are very blessed.
BB, your turn will come. It is really neat. DGS just smells so sweet and smiles and laughs a lot. But he is a Jeckyll and Hyde. He can go from a grin all over his face to a scowl and bellering in two seconds flat. lol
Dh said that on the way home, he asked was there a game the next day because he could gladly get out of school again and go. He is 11 and in 5th grade. He is still pretty funny. I get a big kick out of his stories and angst about a little girl in his class who drives him crazy. She has a big crush on him and according to him she is a disgusting person. lol I saw her at a program and thought she was cute, but I didn't tell him. But the way he can tell stories about her just has us all rolling. He may see her through different eyes in a few years.--Pat
You are a lucky lady to have the time with the baby boy. My DGS will be 8 in June and I will never forget his baby days. He's still my cuddlebug. He's actually playing baseball now, and "Nana" tries hard to make all of his practices and games. I take him shopping when he needs new sports gear. I know how fast they grow and I don't want to regret missing any of it. Your older DGS sounds like real fun too. Enjoy.
Hugs,
Melissa
Pat, my problem is that I am always tempted to
Ahhhh, so good you're getting some alone time with the baby.
