Reporting in from a yellow Georgia......

Yep, the pine pollen is falling now and what a mess that sticky stuff makes.   Every car in the city has a yellow haze on it right now.   White cars look yellow, blue cars look green, and my little red car is orange right now.  We're supposed to get some rain tomorrow, so hopefully, a lot of the nasty stuff will be washed away.

Easter was a quiet day for us.  My Mom and Dad came down for the day and spent the night, but that was all the "company" we had.  DS was planning to come, but his work schedule got messed up somehow and he had to work on Easter, from 2-10.  He called us on his break and sounded so "down" that he couldn't be here with us, but it couldn't be helped.  He's off tomorrow though and I'm having lunch with him, so that'll be nice.  DD and DSonIL couldn't make it either.  DD teaches 2 classes (dance) on Saturdays and making a 5 1/2 hour drive for one day is just not worth it.

I've been busy getting things ready for the baby shower I'm giving on the 25th of this month.  It's been years since I hosted a baby shower, but this one is coming together nicely, I think.

I've also been training for the Peachtree Road Race, a 10K that takes place on July 4th.  It's been years since I participated in this particular race (2003, I think...before the RA) and I'm very excited about doing it again.

Not much else to report from my little world so I guess I should get out of this chair and get moving.  Need to pick up my Curves buddy in an hour.  Have a great day, Ladybugs, and don't forget to check out the Bugfest post.

The pollen makes everything look just nasty, doesn't it? I tried cleaning off the windshield so I could see to drive, but it just turned into yellow mud and made the visibility worse.

OMG! The pollen this year is the worst I have ever seen! I was up around Stone Mountain today on 78 and it was like fog! I could hardly see the mountain it was so bad. I rain Fiona through the car wash on my way and within minutes she had yellow pollen on her. Got to be bad for everyone with allergies.

OBTW I went to Little Korea with Peggy! She and dh are down here for about 3 weeks. She said to say hi to everyone.

I had a great girlfriend time today, but man it was a long day. I was so ready to sit and have some quiet time when I got home. But 2 phone calls changed that.

Just think of this magic dust icon as being yellow. lol It just isn't spring until that stuff arrives, is it? Around our area we have a lot of Bradford Pear trees. Normally they leaf out in beautiful white blooms which last for two or three weeks, then they turn green. Well, this year they bloomed out in the white, then turned green two days later. That was a disappointment.

I'm glad you are getting to have lunch with DS. It gets harder and harder to get everyone together for holidays, doesn't it? By the time you work around jobs and sports activities and out of town trips (or some living far away). You make a call to one family and it's a go, then you talk to another branch and you are back on the phone, saying never mind that won't work. And it only gets worse as everyone gets older. So glad you had the toime with your folks, though.

I know your baby shower will be a huge success and good luck with the Peach Tree race.
