So much to do, so little time...

Wow, this past week has been exhausting. I drove to Pensacola last Thurs (8+ hours) for DS's graduation from flight school ("winging"). It was a great time, wonderful ceremonies, and (long story) the first time I'd seen DS since Dec '08 so that in itself made the trip worth it. So he is now an officially certified Coast Guard helicopter pilot, which has to be one of the coolest jobs in the world, and what he has wanted to do since early childhood. Oh, and I am now convinced that I have the sweetest, most wonderful DIL in the entire world. :) But, the trip had to end and I drove home Sat - beating my 'personal best' time and making it in 7 1/2 hours lol.
Sunday we spent working in the yard. Monday flew to New Orleans for business, back home Tuesday, got in late that night and - of course! - the next 2 days at work were crazy. Was having some trouble with swelling ankles before all this traveling so of course by Wed they were huge and painful. I think some of that has to do with some med I started taking for female/menopause issues. Dr changed the med and the ankles are better now (as well as the nausea - yuk). Thurs I went to TKD for the first time in nearly 2 weeks and that was soooo painful.
Today we actually took off work (we don't 'officially' work Fridays - but we nearly always do). SO has Army drill this weekend so we got him ready and intended to plant peas, beans and squash but the tiller messed up so he got the rows ready but not planted. Took him to the armory, went by the post office, washed the car, got my hair done, got a massage, bought groceries.... whew! Finally got home, started planting and realized that he had made the rows about 10 million feet long each - or so it seemed lol. Got the peas planted, straightened up and my back said "uh-uh". So the beans and squash can wait til tomorrow! I was planning on resting this weekend, but the house is a total and complete wreck so besides planting there is some serious housecleaning in my immediate future. Dang it. Think I'll just enjoy my dinner, go to bed early, and worry about tomorrow.... tomorrow.
Happy weekend to all!!!!

Jill congrats to your son on graduating flight school.
Congrat's to your DS on his graduation.
Hi Deb, you are right about the passionate part. DS has wanted to fly - not just fly, but for the military - since preschool days. He is lucky to get to live his dream, but he also worked his hiney off to get there, and of course I couldn't be prouder of or happier for him.
Hard to explain about DIL without going into a ton of history. I mentioned that I hadn't seen DS since Dec '08 - that had a lot to do with me leaving his dad, and I was
Thanks, Shirley Sue! I'm very proud of the kid.
You sound just like my SO when it comes to tilling. He keeps saying "one more time" while I'm saying "NO! Plant it already!" LOL. Lucky for me he had to be gone this weekend and the almanac said to plant, so no more tilling for him. For now. He's not going to like that I didn't get the beans and peas planted very straight, but I say they will still grow just as well. :)
Good luck with the power pole issue - what a pain! Hope they at least leave your garden alone somehow.
