Curve ball

Life has thrown a bit of a curve ball and we have decided home schooling Princess is a must beginning next year.  I'm selfish enough to have a bad attitude about this as I NEV-ER wanted to do this or saw myself doing this.  *sigh  But then, one thing I do know about life is the fact that it is often unpredictable and we are many times called upon to do things we'd rather not do.  We'll get it figured out but right now I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the concept.  She will be in the 10th grade and we will probably do this throughout high school.

I could use some hugs about now (and perhaps a Margarita!)  LOLWah! Wah!
Enough of my whining.

The bad weather missed us and it has been a beautiful weekend here.
All my little flowers are smiling.
Church this morning.
House Slipper Tea next Saturday - busy week coming up.
Love ya, Girls!

Wow...shock and awe! I can't imagine what led you to this decision but good luck to all of you. There is no way I could do this personally. Have you seen the math?! My cousin has home schooled her children from start to finish and her oldest graduated last year from h.s. with honors. It sure is going to change life as you know it in the bayou! But you are right, you are being led on this journey for a reason and the strength and guidance will come as needed.

Hugs...

I am like the others, am very surprised at this decision!!! I'm sure there is a good reason for all of this and guess I will find out when we have one of our "heart-to-hearts" ...... How does the Princess feel about it??

I read your message last night, Deb, but was a bit too tired to answer then. I certainly do admire you, but I've said that before, of course. I'll certainly keep you all in my thoughts, and keep sending hugs to support you in in the home school decision. I've tutored kids occasionally, but doubt that I could manage a full curriculum, but I also know that you are much more active and alert than I am. It will be a fascinating subject to re-visit every so often, once you are under way, so I do hope that you keep us posted. Will you be able to get in touch with other home school families? It may be a way of getting some tips, also an occasional swap. DS1 tells me that there is a small home school boy often joins him and the grand-babies when they play in the park opposite when DS1 gets home from work. Apart from commenting that he is very bright, the only comment from DS1 is that the boy can not easily relate to other kids. That is mainly because of his age I think - will not be something to consider in your case. Love and hugs, Jenni

OK, Deb. I'll send you a big hug.

Look at the bright side of home schooling.
