first of all thank you all for your expressions of sympathy and your prayers. you can't know how much it meant to me.

there were 10 of us on the cruise, dh and me, his oldest sister, her son and his wife and her brother and his wife and her sister and her husband and dh's other sister.

we only saw the younger ones in passing and at dinner at night. but, his sisters were with us most of the time.

we got on the ship on sunday and ate lunch, then we went to see our room. after that we walked around the ship until the safety drill. then it was time to get ready for dinner. the food was fabulous it was hard making up my mind what to have. we had a waiter from romania and an assistant waiter from turkey.

monday we sailed all day and there was plenty to do. we saw an ice show that afternoon and it was great.they had a $10 madness sale on the royal promenade so i went to that. they also had a seminar about shopping in the various ports. i went to that and bought the coupon book. if you bought it you got a smiley face on your sea pass card and then two for one drinks of the day. when we went to dinner that night we had another waiter as ours had a problem with his leg. we wound up having dragos the rest of the cruise. he was great, we had a lot of fun with him and hasan the assistant. after the shows every night we went to the schooner bar and one of the cocktail waitresses is dragos' wife. so, we talked to her every night but one.

tuesday we were in cozumel, it was ok but not my favorite port. we went on a walking historic tour of the city. as we were walking i felt something sting me. when i looked down my arm was bleeding, i don't have a clue what it was. we went to a building that during the day was a home and then it was a restaurant at night. they served us a drink made from hibiscus, it was really good. then we went to a tequila factory, only one of us was brave enough to taste all of them. boy the one that tasted like bailey's and the coffee flavored one were wonderful. from there we went to a very old church and then a museum. after that we went shopping!!!

wednesday we went to grand cayman island. we could not dock so had to ride a water taxi to shore, that was an experience. we took a trolley tour there and then went shopping!!!! grand cayman is beautiful and so clean. the tropical flowers were just gorgeous. i really enjoyed going there.

thursday we docked in montego bay, jamaica. we took a bus to where we wanted to go and didn't do an excursion. we went to the center of town and did some shopping and then went to doctor's cove. it costs $5 to go down to the beach. morris' nephew and his wife and her brother and his wife were there when we go there. one of my sister's in law and i decided to put our feet in the water. well, her daughter in law caught a hold of our hands and dragged us in up to our waists. it just so happened that that day i was wearing thin white pants!!!!

friday and saturday we sailed back to galveston. but, on friday night the show was the original drifters and boy were they good. i didn't get to go to the schooner bar that night because i are the roasted peach soup at supper and didn't know until i tasted it that it was garnished with strawberries. it looked like pieces of peach floating around but as soon as i put a spoonful in my mouth i knew differently. had to take a bunch of benedryl and go to bed early that night.

the food was amazing, both of us gained a few pounds. four times i had the drink of the day, so came home with four glasses that you got to keep. the same thing after supper they came by with shooters and i had one every night except the last night when i had two. got to bring that little glasses home too. i did manage to have a mudslide and a pina colada. then i had one called a bellini sunset, didn't really care for that one.

we had such a good time that the day before we docked back in galveston we booked a cruise for next year. this time though we are sailing out of florida and going by ourselves!!!! both of us can't wait for next april to get here, lol.

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time on the cruise Ellen. I've only been on 4 cruises but they were all fabulous! I prefer the southern Caribbean route to the Mexican route...don't like Montego Bay at all but Ocho Rios is ok if you have to stop in Jamaica.

Did you get any good bargains with all your shopping?

Hope you, Morris and his family are doing ok what with the passing of his father. What a shock for everyone to return home to. His poor Mom.

i got my gift for bugfest on grand cayman island. bought one for myself too, lol.
we mainly were just looking for souvenirs for the grandsons that live close to us. also some things for the couple that took care of the house and sophie while we were gone.
i did get i think four pairs of earrings though, have to see if i can wear them. if not i will give them to melissa.

m's mom passed away three years ago so it's just the kids now.

Ellen! A cruise - how wonderful. We've talked about going on one but have never done it. What cruise line did you use? How long was the cruise? Maybe we'll do it some day but dh will not wear shorts or a bathing suit. Gail
