After reading a few articles about what you can accomplish in xxx number of minutes, I decided to try it out. Mostly, because my aging back can no longer stand the Spring ritual of spending a week cleaning from top to bottom. I'm finding the minutes I wait for food to cook can be spent wiping down appliances, or cleaning out a drawer. Having a MODERN dust cloth in EACH room means I can grab one during commercials and give a quick swipe. I made a ziploc bag containing a stack of folded paper towels dampened with my favorite cleaning solution for greasy spots. A small bottle of glass cleaner & supply of paper towel in EACH bathroom makes quick work of the outside of the shower door and vanity mirror. Oh yes, I found disposable foil oven liners, so no more nasty chemicals to get out the spilled grunge. Even rearranging a linen closet is easier if you break it down one shelf at a time. So far, the place is looking better than it has in a while. Or that could just be that's it's Spring and all my world looks better.

Jacquie I need to try that. I call myself doing that. But I get so lazy. I am learning to throw stuff away. I ask myself do I use it or need it and if I can answer no, it goes. I will keep this in mind and try to get started.

Not until you get that knee healed. How's it doing?
I am to the point in my life that tossing stuff is very satisfying. Simplifying my life is very empowering. I recently gave a bunch of DM's & my costume jewelry to the daughter of a friend. She lives in NY City, is very much the cosmopolitan gal and was thrilled. It made me happy to know that the pieces are out of the dark drawer and will once again shine in the spotlight. She sent me pix of her wearing them with an Audrey Hepburn type dress at a party. Her friends kept wanting to be photographed wearing the jewelry. Such a simple way to bring joy to someone else - and make space in my chest.

Ah, yes. That great problem of remembering to do it. For example, supper is cooking as I type. I SHOULD be out there wiping something down - LOL. Baby steps, baby steps....
