Convocation ceremony on Sat. AM for DS's graduation was very moving. It was easy to spot DS in the procession - the oldest and the only one with long ponytail & short beard.
Some of the out of town relatives couldn't make it, so I had no one to feed snacks to at the house.
The evening party was just what we wanted. The room was just big enough for plenty of seating including a table with board games for the kids. I was surprised that so few of DSs friends from church came, but all the old buddies showed up, plus the extended family. DH's older brother (77) rode with his DD & her 3 grands we'd not met. Our sole decorations were bunches of 3 balloons with a weight on the bottom for each table. As the kids left, they each got to take home a bunch - they were thrilled. DSs band played mostly songs they wrote, but threw in a few cover tunes for dancing. As usual, DH & I were the only ones dancing. Party broke up at 11 & we were in bed by midnight. Everyone left smiling.
Except for making the usual Sunday breakfast, no cooking for me - we have plenty of leftovers. DH is in "hog heaven" because we brought home most of the Polish sausage, which he loves. After a few chores & lunch, we were both yawning. We took the phone off the hook, DH headed to the bed with gray cat, I stretched out on the sofa with the tiger cat and we got much needed naps.
Now I need to start prepping for DGrDs baby shower next Sunday.
