I think it's safe to remove the snow brush from my car now. It was 85* at 9:00 a.m. this morning! Of course there are those out there griping that it's too hot! Two days of hot weather and they're complaining already...geeeez! I'm loving it!!
When I got to work at 11:30 the copy machine was down and there were 2 guys hovering over it. One had a manual out and was flipping pages. It didn't look promising. Then I logged on to my computer and found out that the program our Customer Service Reps use to log in all our orders every day was down and they had to write down all orders manually for the day. (I use the same program for a couple of other things). Seems somehow water had gotten into the main server in the computer room over the weekend and blew out "something." Our CSR's were not a happy bunch today...they took 1,400 phone orders and wrote them out by hand. They'll have to be entered when the system comes back up.
Then I went up to the front Reception Desk to relieve our Receptionist for her lunch break and walked into the area and was greeted by a wave of heat! I said, "what the heck?" She said, "yeah, the A/C is out on this side of the building." That was pleasant...by then it was over 90* outside and our Reception area is floor to ceiling windows facing south! About 15 mins. later the maintenance guy came by to tell me they had just come down from the roof and it was a broken fan and were trying to locate a part.
Just Mondays alone are unusually crazy and busy at work and all this added craziness really added to the drama. We really dragged our butts out of there slowly tonight at 8:00. Yaaaaawn.
But...the sun is shining and it's hot here...I'm happy!!!!

Oh wow Blu, were the gremlins at your work place today or what! I'm glad you were able to do things manually. It's a pain when work stops because of computers being down. I hope they are fixed today.
It's already almost 70 degrees here and it's not even 6am yet.
Blu, isn't it fun when things start breaking down?

Yikes - I would have had a meltdown - literally. I can handle heat being out more than A/C being down. I've taken to putting small rags under my bra band so I can swap out the sweat periodically. I got a nasty heat rash last Summer.
The construction guys showed up to work on the drive at 7:30 and I had to rush out in my PJs to get our cars out of the way of their big trucks. After the brutal heat on Mon., they wanted an early start - the concrete truck is pouring right now.
DH insisted on putting the window A/C unit in my hobby room on Monday, despite a sore back. He knows how hot it get when the sun hits the windows in the afternoon. I am very grateful. When we put in the zonal A/C in the house, we ran out of $$, so left 2 spare bedrooms out. The window unit works fine for me, the other room is pretty much storage.
After a bit of garden watering, I'll be in for the day. DH & I ran errands after the sun went down on Monday.

Why is it that when one something goes wrong at a place several others have to join in the fray?!! I don't think that is a "Murphy's Law", but I'm sure it must have a name!!!
Glad you made it out of there in one piece. How was it today?
