Good morning, Ladybugs.  What's happening?  Are you having a beautiful day like we are? I hope so...but unfortunately, I'm stuck at home because the A/C man is coming to fix the upstars unit....FINALLY.  It's a good thing, too, as it is supposed to get up into the high 80s today!

I think I'll clean out a drawer while I'm waiting.  That's always fun! Later I'll plant my tomato plants. I have some growing inside and they are ready to be transplanted.  Are any of you growing any vegetables?

We're going out to dinner tonight, so worries about what's for dinner...

I hope your day is a good one!!

I'm off to see Ms. Tessa at the Cut & Curl.
Hope she doesn't scalp me!

Sunny and in the low 90's here this week.
The mowers just left and the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air.
Love that!

Blueberry/Banana Bread is ready to come out of the oven.
Spaghetti for dinner.

That's it from the Bayou.

Nope, not growing any veggies but I did contemplate a Topsy-Turvy. I said "contemplated"...that's as far as that got. My parents used to have a huge garden in our back yard and grew everything. I still can't get rid of the horseradish my father planted in one of the flower beds! We've dug it up at least 3 times to no avail.

We've had 5 amazing weather days here but I think we might be in for a little rain tomorrow. I think it's going to cool off a little too. It's been in the high 80's and 90 for a few days. I've been loving it! Capris and sandals for work every day. Just my style.

I've cleaned out so many drawers since Mama Blu passed away I'm sick of it. I've got lots more to go. I need to get at some of my drawers too.

Better late than never, I guess. The last section of the new driveway was poured today. The cars must sit on the street for 7 days while it hardens. DGrS was here doing backbreaking work of putting in stone edging. He's such a perfectionist, that I know it will look way better than if either DH or I did it. I made a run across town to buy 2 qts. of our fav frozen custard to celebrate the end of the big project. Of course, I'll be cleaning the dust off every tool, bike, etc. outside for the next month. Two linen skirts did get cut while I was staying in out of the heat & pollen.

We have 1 raised bed with snap peas, lettuce & green beans. As we don't eat a huge amount & I don't do canning, one patio plant is full of tiny fruit and there are sweet peppers in big pots. I've gotten more realistic about what the 2 of us can eat. The rest of the family has their own gardens, so no need to share. I do love fresh herbs, so they are tucked around flowers in the deck pots.

I need to pick up 14 bags of top soil early Fri. DH says he'll stay home so some clerk will take pity on this poor old lady & load them in the station wagon. DH knows he'll be doing the unloading.

Hello Ladybugs all,

Enjoying a very rare two days with NOTHING on the calendar except a concert tomorrow night. The weather has been clear and sunny, but too little wind so we have bad air quality. I'll be limiting my outdoor time which makes it easier to psych myself into spending my day in my kitchen. I'm on the go so much with little boy baseball, dance classes and work that I don't seem to have the time or energy to cook. If I spend today cooking I'll have food that I can just heat and eat for the next week or two. Maybe I'll finally get to try out BB's sweet potato fries recipe. Mmmm.

No garden here. I forget to water and things don't thrive. I need to turn the water on the herbs that are out there now. I'm not a good gardener at all. The herb garden has a serious weed issue that I haven't dealt with either. Bad ladybug :-).

Hope everyone has great weather for holiday plans. As I mentioned above I will be going to a concert tomorrow night. Our local symphony does a series in our botanic garden every summer. My brother sings in a vocal group that will be performing with the symphony tomorrow night so I'm going to hear them.

Hugs,

Melissa

That was one HUGE project.
You deserve to celebrate it's completion.
What flavor frozen custard did you buy?
